Three Tunes Tuesday - Teddy Swims
Hello everyone!
I am perhaps a little late since it isn’t Tuesday anymore but let me share a discography of Teddy Swims. Afterall, it has been a while since I am sharing a recommendation and I have the need to introduce Teddy Swims.
Teddy Swims got into my recommendation about a year ago. At first, I shrugged it off and didn’t care about the songs but the voice captured my heart. It was the kind of voice that was unique and a great film background. Somehow, I wondered if he’s ever been featured in any movie, maybe something that talks about Yippie culture or any kind of movie like fifty shades of gray and 356 days and even series like the Suits. You get the gist.
The other week, I got reminded of him again out of nowhere. The tune of “ lose control” re-appeared and I listened to it once more and damn, his voice is just so fire. Lose control is the kind of song that you probably listen to with whiskey neat on hand. His whole vibe reminds me of the 70s and this Lose control is also a pretty moody song too, again think of whiskey neat on hand kinda vibe.
It’s weird to call him pop and soul but he’s all sorts. He blends different genres into his music. When you listen to his other songs, you’d notice this too.
At the same time, when you look at Teddy, you probably thought he’s a soundcloud rapper but he’s not. He sings a mix of ballad, soul and sometimes he does cover. In the past, before he blew up he did a cover of Shania Twain’s song and it was just absolutely insane. He has this raw talent and his voice is pretty unique even without music behind it. His album I tried everything but therapy is a great start for his discography as it has two of his most popular songs “ Lose Control” and “The Door”.
To get to know Teddy’s Lose Control is on my top recommendation. Then there’s “The Door” and eventually “ Broke”. These top 3 shows Teddy’s various musical influences and way before he blew up, he even collaborated with illenium and ele duhe. To me, this cover is one of his best, His cover on Khalid’s song titled “Talk”.
He still has so much potential and I hope he could win a Grammy's one day. His career is still early and he’s still really young, so there’s more potential to come. Anyway, that’s all for my recommendation for this week and perhaps this month.

I think the guy also has a generally great personality. That makes me even like him more alongside his voice. That cover of Talk was BANG to me. I love Khalid and his sings, so...
Nice work with the thumbnail. What headset is that that Mac would never lose?
hahahah that was canva free scrapbook headset. It has been a few months now that I haven't lost my Thinkpad headphone
Ooops... alright then
I wish I have that kind of headphone 😂soon maybe
Teddy's fantastic! Came to him a couple years ago, before he blew up, and have been hooked ever since. Saw him in concert earlier this year, and he's just the sweetest, most genuine guy. :) Love your picks!!
No way!!!! that must've been awesome to see him live! His voice is just soo cool even without autotune and studio production. You're so lucky. Did you share the experience here? I hope he'll come to Dallas sometime next year so I can watch it 😄
It was really special. To be honest, I was in two minds about going, wondered if it might be worth it and all, but in the end was so glad I went. I don't remember the last time I sang and danced like that. I didn't share it, no. It didn't seem like a lot of people on here knew about him, and I don't really do the taking photos/recording thing at live shows. I like to just be there and forget everything else.
I like the quality of his voice. And of course his songs bring good vibes. 🫶
😄 Definitely, don't let the look fools you like it did before to me. Now, I am hooked to his songs. Whenever you need some groove, just play one of his songs and especially this one.
Loved the beat. Yeah. 😅 I guess it will keep playing on my mind now. Well, what more can I say.

Glad you like them 😊 He has pretty unique voice and I am sooo glad to have come across him too.
I was on here yesterday after you commented on a post of mine and I was so fluffing mesmerised that I forgot to leave a comment!
What a singer Teddy Swims is, and he reminds me of Rag n Bone man!
OMG That! I was trying to remember Rag n Bone man! When I first heard his song, I though Teddy was Rag n Bone since they have similar look and style to it even their voice. I do like Rag n Bone but the song just don't speak to me, so it's why I don't listen to it much.
Yeah the voice the looks the tattoos they are very alike.
Rag n Bone came bursting onto the scene here a few years ago and was all over the place, now though I can't remember the last time I heard him!
I like your taste in your music,,,
