... la sua animalità, al limite potrà fare una guerra, ma non potrà mai gridare, sfogarsi che quel ruolo gli sta stretto, che quel ruolo lo limita nel diventare un uomo e un essere umano.
Quel ragazzo, Giovanni, tuttavia, non vuol far parte di quel sistema, lui è sinceramente e ingenuamente innocuo. Voleva farsi un giro in centro con la nuova automobile insieme ai suoi amici, se ne infischia letteralmente del sistema, delle mie congetture e di finire in prigione.
Vuole soltanto sentirsi bene, sentirsi libero. Poi l’hanno messo di fronte ad una scelta, forse perché è messicano:
“Sei sicuro di voler veramente essere libero? Guarda che la libertà significa prima di tutto saper trasformare la propria rabbia. La libertà esiste prima nella tua intima esistenza e poi si estende alla realtà che ti circonda. Non crederai mica che essere libero significhi scorrazzare con la tua macchina ultimo modello? Il sistema esiste per renderti felice, ha bisogno della tua felicità per perfezionarsi”. Questo sistema esiste per portare felicità e libertà al genere umano. La libertà significa essere coscienti e consapevoli del ruolo che abbiamo, accettandolo per realizzare la felicità propria e di tutti, solo nel nostro cuore sentiamo e sappiamo quando siamo liberi. Essere liberi, significa lottare per essere se stessi.
“Non crederai mica che siano stati i poliziotti o il loro razzismo a metterti in galera? Sei stato tu a scegliere di metterti di fronte a una scelta!”.
“Io”.
“Sei tu che ti sei scelto, perché tu sei anche il sistema! Tu sei l’autore del tuo destino”.
“Ma io, io volevo semplicemente ...”.
“Crescere? È per questo che sono arrivati i poliziotti perché tu possa crescere”.
“Non voglio finire in prigione, non ho fatto nulla”.
“Esatto non hai fatto niente per essere felice, per essere libero e per questo colpevole. Sarà proprio quest’esperienza a renderti più libero ad avvicinarti al tuo cammino, vedrai Giovanni, vedrai. Sei stato tu a scegliere”.

"Are you sure you really want to be free? Look, freedom is first of all knowing how to transform your anger. Freedom exists first in your inner being and then extends to the reality around you. You don't think that being free means driving around in your latest car, do you? The system exists to make you happy, it needs your happiness to perfect itself. This system exists to bring happiness and freedom to humanity. Freedom is being conscious and aware of the role we have, accepting it to realise our own happiness and the happiness of everyone else, it's only in our hearts that we feel and know when we are free. To be free is to strive to be oneself.
"You don't think it was the cops or their racism that put you in prison? It was you who chose to put yourself in front of a choice!"
"Me."
"You are the one who chose yourself, because you are also the system! You are the author of your own fate."
"But I, I just wanted to...".
"Grow up? That's why the cops came, to make you grow up."
"I don't want to go to jail, I didn't do anything."
"That's right, you didn't do anything to be happy, to be free and therefore guilty. It will be this experience that will make you freer, you will see John, you will see. It was you who chose".

Rereading this page 24 years later, I am still amazed at the attempt not to put those who seem to be only the victims of this society into the box of victims who have to get compensation or justice from the same system that condemned them. I am amazed precisely because conscience is everything, because consciousness is a real possibility for every woman or man on earth to realise that they are the creators of their universe. Everyone can choose to be a victim, an executioner or a creator. Of course it is easy to just write this in a book or a Hive post, but my life has always been based on this simple point of reference. Rileggendo questa pagina 24 anni dopo mi stupisco ancora del tentativo di non mettere chi sembra essere solo la vittima sacrificale di questa società nella casella delle vittime che devono ottenere risarcimento o giustizia dallo stesso sistema che li ha condannati. Mi stupisco proprio perchè la coscienza è tutto, acquisire consapevolezza è una possibilità reale per ogni donna o uomo sulla terra fino a capire che sono loro stessi i creatori del loro universo. Chiunque può scegliere se essere vittima, carnefice oppure creatore. Certamente è facile limitarsi a scriverlo su un libro o su un post di Hive, tuttavia la mia vita si è sempre basata su questo semplice punto di riferimento. È stato immensamente coerente 23 anni dopo, scoprendo il Triade Color Test Dinamico Flash di riposizionarmi sulla questione e scoprire che ci si può sentire artefici del nostro destino. E non conta quante volte siamo cascati, pianto di disperazione, di impotenza davanti agli eventi della vita, quello che conta è che questo ci abbia spinto e accellerato nella comprensione di chi siamo, di chi sei. A questo servono le batoste, le esperienze belle o brutte della vita. A trovare una serenità profonda immune da tutto e che crea il presente.
