Hey folks,

Today I’m sharing a layered, folk rock reimagining of Thunderkiss '65 by White Zombie—completely reworked on acoustic guitar with a looper, some deep vocals, and a few thick layers of melody and rhythm.

The original track is a chaotic, heavy-hitting burst of ‘90s industrial metal. I’ve always loved that raw energy, but instead of trying to match it with volume, I approached it from another angle—stripping away the distortion and reimagining it through an acoustic lens, without losing its edge.

I used my looper to build out the performance, starting with the rhythmic groove and adding melodic guitar lines over it, then brought in vocals with a darker, folk rock tone. It’s gritty, hypnotic, and still full of bite—but with an earthier, more grounded feel.

This was recorded live using my usual acoustic setup, plugged in and looped in real-time. The result is something raw and atmospheric—less industrial, more backwoods firelight.

Hola a todos,

Hoy les comparto una versión folk rock con capas de Thunderkiss '65 de White Zombie, completamente reelaborada en guitarra acústica con un looper, voces profundas y unas cuantas capas densas de melodía y ritmo.

El tema original es una explosión caótica y contundente de metal industrial de los 90. Siempre me ha gustado esa energía pura, pero en lugar de intentar combinarla con volumen, la abordé desde otra perspectiva: eliminando la distorsión y reimaginándola a través de una lente acústica, sin perder su filo.

Usé mi looper para construir la interpretación, comenzando con el groove rítmico y añadiendo líneas melódicas de guitarra sobre él, para luego incorporar voces con un tono folk rock más oscuro. Es crudo, hipnótico y con mucha fuerza, pero con un toque más terrenal y arraigado.
