FLIGHT OF DREAMS •//• Unpacking Baggage for Freedom

I have always loved animated movies, I don’t find them childish and silly but I find them fun and educating, to be honest, most animated movies are always educational if you take your time to learn from them. I have countless animations and I have learnt from most of them.

I watched this movie some time ago “Ballerina”. Ballerina is a 2016 movie, this movie portrays a young orphan and her best friend. The young girl's dream was to become a ballerina and she worked towards it regardless of the odds, she escaped from the orphanage and faced a lot of trials including being dragged back to the orphanage but at last, she performed at the Opera.

This movie showed how great determination and resilience can make one achieve their dreams, it was a lovely movie and I enjoyed it. In this animated movie, there was a lot of nice and inspiring music sung but I recognized one, which was “Suitcase” by Sia.

Prior to watching it, I had heard the song “Suitcase” but I have never really paid attention to it but when I heard it in this animation I was able to pay close attention to it and the lyrics and I can say that it is such an inspiring song.

This song shows how restless the young girl was to achieve her dreams. She believed she would be a ballerina regardless of the circumstances and how poor she was. Even though she was in an orphanage home where it seemed impossible for her to get up, she was still restless to achieve her dream.

She didn’t care about what she had with her now, in fact, she didn’t need a million dollars to pursue her dreams. She didn’t need unnecessary suitcases, all she needed was herself and her desires because she had got all she needed to fly.

I remember seeing her ballet dancing on the tiny edge of the roof of the orphanage building, she couldn’t care less as she danced with all her heart, she was smiling as she sang out loud “I have all I need, all I need to be free”. I remember smiling when I saw her achieve her dreams.
