A Star is Born for Three Tunes Tuesday

Happy Sad - Sad Happy - Happy Happy...mostly happy, life's neverending seesaw!

Give me a rags-to-riches story, a little romance, and good music ^{food for the soul, right?} Add top artists, and you have me hooked.

The 2018 musical drama A Star is Born, ticked all my the boxes.

I was super surprised to see Lady Gaga looking like the girl next door, and to learn that it was Bradley Cooper’s voice in the songs.
Lady Gaga is said to have convinced him that he should do the vocals in the movie. The guitar playing, however, was done by Lukas Nelson (son of Willie Nelson).

Today, of course, is Tuesday, and I'm tuning in to @ablaze's Three Tune Tuesday - Week 168 - win 12 HBI, so it's all about the music!

HAAA AH AH AH AH, AAAH AAAH, AH AH AH AH HAAA!!!

That was the reaction of the unknown singer Ally(Lady Gaga) when successful country singer Jack (Bradley Cooper) arranged a surprise for her at one of his concerts. The duet Shallow became an instant hit with the crowd, not surprising. The song and the magic between the two make it even more special.
Shallow has become one of my favourites, and won an Oscar and other prestigious awards for Lady Gaga!

In all the good times, I find myself longin' for change
And in the bad times, I fear myself

Another favourite, yes, there were many in this movie, is “Always Remember Us This Way.” This song was a nervous Ally’s introduction to a wider audience, where she gets to play the piano, and ends with a powerful performance.

That Arizona sky burnin' in your eyes
You look at me and, babe, I wanna catch on fire
It's buried in my soul like California gold
You found the light in me that I couldn't find
So when I'm all choked up
And I can't find the words
Every time we say goodbye
Baby, it hurts
When the sun goes down
And the band won't play
I'll always remember us this way.

Shall I say it again...another favourite towards the end of the movie, is an emotional performance by Ally of the song “I’ll Never Love Again.”

Wish I could, I could’ve said goodbye
I would’ve said what I wanted to
Maybe even cried for you
If I knew, it would be the last time
I would’ve broke my heart in two
Tryin’ to save a part of you
