There were two festivals happening in šxʷƛ̓ənəq Xwtl’e7énk Square. The taiko drummers were part of the Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival celebrating Canada's 157th birthday. It was a banging performance. There was another stage with Jazz music being played, but I didn't catch any acts. Walking around this long weekend, I came across a number of events that involved music, food, and culture. Great to see that the city is tackling its reputation as a no-fun city (though I'm still mad about the cancellation of fireworks for Canada Day).
