My routine before each show: connection, preparation, and artistic focus.

Hello dear Community, today I'm sharing a bit of my routine as a musician before my live performance. I hope you can connect as much as I did by describing each moment.

Each live performance is a new story. Although the stage, the audience, and the atmosphere change, there's one thing that always remains the same: my personal routine before each show. That hour beforehand is key to connecting with myself, with my instrument, and with the energy I want to convey.

Every performance I do doesn't start when the first note plays... it starts long before, in the small moments that no one sees. Behind the flute, the stage, and the lights, there's a routine that helps me connect with myself, prepare, and give my best. This blog is a small window into what happens in my day when I have a show, from the moment I wake up until the last song finally plays.

Preparing early:

That day, I usually wake up with my mind already focused. I try to get ready ahead of time: hair, skin, clothes. I like to look good, not only for the audience, but because feeling good gives me confidence. If time permits, I do my makeup slowly and choose my wardrobe carefully.

After I'm ready, if the hotel where I work allows it, I go out to eat something. I try to choose a light but sufficient meal. It depends a lot on the hotel or restaurant where I'm playing that day. If I know I'll have a double shift, I make sure I eat well.

Once I'm ready, I wait for the car that will take me to the hotel where the performance will be held. Sometimes I'm lucky and the trip is short. Other times, I have to travel a little further. If I have two jobs that day, I have to be very organized so as not to waste time between them.

While I'm commuting or before leaving, I organize my playlist. Not all places are the same. If I'm playing on a terrace, I look for pieces that complement the breeze, the view, the tranquility. If it's a lobby, I choose more elegant, warmer melodies that fill the space without overwhelming it.

When I arrive at the venue, the first thing I do is locate the space where I'm going to play. I set up my stand, connect my cable, test the sound, and do a little rehearsal. This is the key moment to make sure everything will go well.

Before starting, I always give myself a few minutes to breathe, look at the space, and connect with the environment. I remember why I'm there, how much I love what I do. It's an intimate moment where I prepare myself to give my best.

And then, it begins. The music takes control. I play with my heart, every note thoughtful, every pause heartfelt. There are nights where the audience connects so much that I feel the music floats in the air.

Every day with a show is different, but they all have one thing in common: the love I put into every detail. From the moment I open my eyes until the last chord ends, everything I do is part of a bigger story: the story of a Cuban woman fulfilling her dream, note by note, show after show.

Mi rutina antes de cada show: conexión, preparación y enfoque artístico .

Hola querida Comunidad,hoy les traigo un poco de mi mi rutina como músico antes de mi presentación en vivo,espero puedan conectar tanto como yo lo hice describiendo cada momento.

Cada presentación en vivo es una nueva historia. Aunque el escenario, el público y el ambiente cambian, hay algo que siempre se mantiene: mi rutina personal antes de cada show. Esa hora previa es clave para conectarme conmigo misma, con mi instrumento y con la energía que quiero transmitir.

Cada presentación que hago no empieza cuando suena la primera nota… comienza desde mucho antes, en los pequeños momentos que nadie ve. Detrás de la flauta, del escenario y de las luces, hay una rutina que me ayuda a conectar conmigo misma, a prepararme y a dar lo mejor de mí. Este blog es una pequeña ventana a lo que sucede en mi día cuando tengo show, desde que me levanto hasta que finalmente suena la última canción.

Preparándome desde temprano:

Ese día suelo levantarme con la mente ya enfocada. Trato de arreglarme con tiempo: cabello, piel, ropa. Me gusta verme bien, no solo por el público, sino porque sentirme bien me da seguridad. Si el tiempo lo permite, me maquillo con calma y escojo cuidadosamente el vestuario.

Después de estar lista, si el hotel donde trabajo me lo permite, voy a comer algo. Trato de elegir una comida ligera pero suficiente. Depende mucho del hotel o restaurante donde me toque tocar ese día. Si sé que tendré doble turno, me aseguro de alimentarme bien.

Una vez estoy lista, espero el carro que me llevará al hotel donde se hará la presentación. A veces tengo suerte y el trayecto es corto. Otras veces, toca recorrer un poco más. Si tengo dos trabajos ese día, debo organizarme muy bien para no perder tiempo entre uno y otro.

Mientras me traslado o antes de salir, organizo mi playlist. No todos los lugares son iguales. Si voy a tocar en una terraza, busco piezas que acompañen la brisa, la vista, la tranquilidad. Si es un lobby, elijo melodías más elegantes, más cálidas, que llenen el espacio sin invadirlo.

Cuando llego al lugar, lo primero es ubicar el espacio donde voy a tocar. Armo mi stand, conecto mi cable, pruebo el sonido y hago un pequeño ensayo. Ese es el momento clave para asegurarme de que todo saldrá bien.

Antes de empezar, siempre me doy unos minutos para respirar, mirar el espacio, conectarme con el ambiente. Recuerdo por qué estoy ahí, lo mucho que amo lo que hago. Es un momento íntimo donde me mentalizo para dar lo mejor.

Y entonces, empieza. La música toma el control. Toco con el corazón, cada nota pensada, cada pausa sentida. Hay noches donde el público se conecta tanto que siento que la música flota en el aire.

Cada día con show es distinto, pero todos tienen algo en común: el amor que le pongo a cada detalle. Desde que abro los ojos hasta que termina el último acorde, todo lo que hago es parte de una historia más grande: la historia de una cubana que está cumpliendo su sueño nota por nota, show tras show.
