Hello, community! I am Lis, a Cuban flutist, passionate artist, and dreamer. Today I want to invite you into my musical universe by sharing my top 5 favorite songs to play on the flute. Each of these pieces has marked important moments in my artistic development and has been chosen not only for its melodic beauty, but also for what it has taught me as a musician and a person.

1. Fly Me to the Moon – Bart Howard This timeless classic was one of the first songs I performed on an international stage. Its melody conveys calm, elegance, and a romantic energy that perfectly suits the sound of the flute. Each note is a sigh in the air.

2. Spain – Chick Corea A jazz fusion gem! This piece is a technical challenge for any instrumentalist, but also an adrenaline rush. I love playing it because it represents freedom, virtuosity, and creativity. It's a song that challenges me and, at the same time, inspires me to grow.

3. Brazil (Aquarela do Brasil) – Ary Barroso With its rhythmic colors and Latin flavor, Brazil connects me with the joy of the audience. It's a song that brings smiles and invites you to move your body. On the flute, it takes on a sweet yet vibrant tone, allowing me to transmit energy without losing elegance.

4. Cada Mañana – Sarai Rivera A contemporary and deeply spiritual song. I chose it because it reminds me that every day is a new opportunity, a blessing. I love playing it in moments of reflection or in more intimate settings, where the music can touch the soul.

5. Englishman in New York – Sting An iconic song, full of character. I chose it because it combines classical with modern, pop with jazz, and has a melody that perfectly suits the flute's expression. Playing this song makes me feel bold, different, authentic.

Each of these songs represents a part of me: the dreamer, the fighter, the joyful, the reflective, and the authentic. Playing them has been part of my musical evolution, from my beginnings in Cuban bands to international stages. And although the road has often been uphill, music has always been my driving force, my voice, and my home.

Soy Lis, flautista cubana, artista apasionada y soñadora. Hoy quiero invitarte a entrar en mi universo musical compartiéndote mi top 5 de canciones favoritas para interpretar con flauta. Cada una de estas piezas han marcado momentos importantes en mi desarrollo artístico y han sido elegidas no solo por su belleza melódica, sino también por lo que me han enseñado como músico y persona.

1. Fly Me to the Moon – Bart Howard
Este clásico atemporal fue una de las primeras canciones que interpreté en un escenario internacional. Su melodía me transmite calma, elegancia y una energía romántica que se adapta perfectamente al sonido de la flauta. Cada nota es un suspiro en el aire.

2. Spain – Chick Corea
¡Una joya del jazz fusión! Esta obra es un reto técnico para cualquier instrumentista, pero también una descarga de adrenalina. Me encanta tocarla porque representa libertad, virtuosismo y creatividad. Es una canción que me exige y, al mismo tiempo, me inspira a crecer.

Cada una de estas canciones representa una parte de mí: la soñadora, la luchadora, la alegre, la reflexiva y la auténtica. Tocarlas ha sido parte de mi evolución musical, desde mis inicios en bandas cubanas hasta escenarios internacionales. Y aunque muchas veces el camino ha sido cuesta arriba, la música siempre ha sido mi motor, mi voz y mi hogar.
