En el 2009, sin estudios de música, sin saber de rimas y con más ganas que técnica, grabé mi primera canción. No fue en un gran estudio ni con equipo de lujo… fue en la casa de un pana que estaba enamorado de una chama que estudiaba con él. Lo curioso es que, sin darme cuenta, esa canción se volvió una anécdota que todavía me saca una sonrisa.
Recuerdo que la letra la escribí pensando en su historia y, por alguna razón, terminé comparando su relación con la Panamericana trancada. Para quien no lo sepa, la Panamericana es la autopista que conecta Caracas con Los Teques, y en esos años estaba siempre colapsada de tráfico. En mi cabeza, esa metáfora funcionaba perfecto: mucho sentimiento, pero nada de avance.
En esa época escuchaba mucho reggaetón, rap y empezaban a pegar las batallas de freestyle. Nos reuníamos en las afueras de los liceos para rapear contra otros raperos o estudiantes. Era pura energía de calle, improvisación y ganas de demostrar que podíamos soltar algo real, aunque no tuviéramos la experiencia.
Mi segunda canción sí fue en un estudio, y no en cualquiera. Grabé en Moose Records, de Randall Colmenares, un lugar bastante reconocido en Los Teques, camino a El Rincón. El tema se llamaba Dirty South y lo hice con mi grupo Social Family, que luego se unió a mi clan LDC. En esa época éramos varios raperos y grafiteros moviéndonos juntos, con sueños grandes y pocos recursos, pero con un amor enorme por la cultura.
Mirando atrás, me doy cuenta de que no importaba si el primer tema tenía fallas, rimas forzadas o metáforas extrañas. Lo importante es que fue el inicio. Cada verso, cada grabación, me llevó a mejorar, a encontrar mi voz y a formar parte de algo más grande que yo: una comunidad.
