From Dedication to Dog Shampoo: A Day of Love, Worship, and Videoke

collage.jpeg

Greetings, Hive Family, most especially to this lovely ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY!

Yesterday was one for the books, a beautiful blend of faith, family, food, and a little fur baby love. My boyfriend and I were honored to be invited as godparents to his nephew’s dedication and first birthday celebration. It was a day filled with meaningful moments, joyful songs, and a road trip that tested our endurance (and his motorcycle’s fuel tank!).

We started our journey from Bulacan, heading all the way to Cavite. That meant crossing the ever-busy Metro Manila, and let me tell you, it took us more than three hours! Before hitting the road, my boyfriend made sure to full tank his motorcycle, which turned out to be a wise move. Despite the long ride, we arrived at the church just in time for the dedication ceremony.

The service began with praise and worship, and I was instantly in my element. I recognized most of the songs from my videoke sessions at home, so I sang along in my heart. There’s something so uplifting about worship music. It connects you to the moment and the people around you. The pastor’s teachings were heartfelt and inspiring, reminding us of the importance of spiritual guidance in a child’s life.

After the ceremony, we headed to the child’s parents’ house for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious, Filipino comfort food at its finest. Everyone was in high spirits, sharing stories, laughter, and of course, more music. A videoke session kicked off after lunch, and my boyfriend didn’t miss the chance to sing a few songs. It was such a fun and relaxed way to wrap up the celebration.

As much as we wanted to stay longer, I had to be home before dinner. My fur baby Cardo, a fluffy Chow Chow, hadn’t had his lunch yet, and I was already missing him. So we said our goodbyes and began the journey back to Bulacan. But not without a quick detour., we stopped by Mr. DIY in Makati to grab a dog shampoo for Cardo and AA batteries for my videoke mic. Priorities, right?

Traffic in Valenzuela slowed us down a bit, but eventually, we made it home. Cardo greeted us with his usual tail wags and curious sniffs. I snapped a photo of him with his new shampoo and my fresh AA batteries, proof of a day well spent and a pup well cared for.

This day reminded me of how love shows up in many forms: in spiritual ceremonies, shared meals, spontaneous songs, and even in small errands for those we care about. I’m grateful for the experience, the people, and the memories we made.

Thank you for reading and sharing this moment with me. Until the next adventure, whether it’s another dedication, a road trip, or just a videoke night at home. I hope your days are filled with joy, connection, and a little bit of music.

NOTE: All the photos shared here are mine, originally captured using my mobile phone. I just enhanced the first picture using the user-friendly CollageArt.

That’s really one of the challenges of being a mother — even if you’d love to stay, you still have to go home because of the kids. But on your side, you're thinking about your doggies.

It’s nice though that you still got to enjoy your weekend!

Yeah, I'm a first-time fur mom, that's why. Thank you!😇

That's actually true, love is always present anywhere, and I really love how you treat Cardo as a child 😁 Mom and Dad need to go home asap because baby is sad and waiting 💕💕💕

Yes, he is a foreigner. He can speak a little Tagalog now. 😇
