Saludos amigos de esta comunidad de @Music hoy continuando con mis entregas les presentaré a Eddy Castro un músico que marco su huella en la música entre los años 70 y 80, aun en la actualidad sigue presentándose, su nombre verdadero es Edgar Luis Castro Ramos, nació en Caracas Venezuela el 30 de marzo de 1951.

Lo conocí en un concierto homenaje a los 50 años de vida artística de Trino Mora, es una persona muy dada al público y conversador y de muy buen humor, un anécdota que gira en torno a él, es que un amigo mío que es músico también siempre se presenta de telonero en conciertos, y un día un dueño de un club muy conocido donde vivimos quería lucirse con mi amigo, y le dice: ven para presentarte un artista verdadero, y le presenta a Eddy Castro y este al ver a mi amigo lo abrazo y le dijo: que más cuñado como esta todo, el dueño del negocio intrigado pregunta a Eddy Castro: ¿Lo conoces? Y le responde: ¡Claro!... él vivía con mi hermana, allí todos rieron.

Greetings, friends of this @Music community. Continuing with my series, today I present Eddy Castro, a musician who left his mark on music in the 70s and 80s and continues to perform today. His real name is Edgar Luis Castro Ramos, and he was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on March 30, 1951.

I met him at a concert celebrating Trino Mora's 50 years in the music business. He is very outgoing and talkative, always in a good mood. There is an anecdote about him: a friend of mine who is also a musician always opens for him at concerts, and one day the owner of a well-known club where we live wanted to show off to my friend, and said to him, “Come and meet a real artist,” and introduced him to Eddy Castro. Profesionalmente comienza cantando con el conjunto de ingeniera de Valencia, en el año 1967 y se presenta en el canal de televisión RCTV en el programa competencia de juventud, a finales de los 70 forma el grupo C y participa en el festival impulso 1970 donde quedan en segundo lugar, gracias a esto pueden grabar su primer álbum con producción de Edgar Alexander, obtienen éxito nacional e internacional con el tema “Quiero escribir tu nombre”

Luego decide debutar como solista con un 45 rpm “Nuestro ayer volverá” (1971) se integra nuevamente al grupo C hasta 1972, se consolida como solista en 1974 con el tema “El sol no brillara nunca más” Luego hace dúo con Delia Dorta y se presentan como Eddy y Delia logrando gran éxito con “Arena blanca” (1976) Su primer álbum como solista se llama No ha pasado nada (1977) luego su segundo álbum Tiempos de serenata (1981) el tercero Ganas de querer (1984) Como ladrón de madrugada (1988) Mar y coco (1989) Alterna presentaciones como solista y con el grupo C, luego graba Canta Eddy Castro (1999) y Aquellos años 60 (2001) publica un álbum recopilatorio en el 2023 Serenata de amor, en formato digital.

He began his professional career singing with the Valencia engineering ensemble in 1967 and appeared on the RCTV television channel in the youth competition program. In the late 1970s, he formed the group C and participated in the 1970 Impulso festival, where they came in second place. He then decided to debut as a solo artist with a 45 rpm single, “Nuestro ayer volverá” (1971). He rejoined the group C until 1972 and established himself as a solo artist in 1974 with the song “El sol no brillará nunca más.” He then formed a duo with Delia Dorta and they performed as Eddy y Delia, achieving great success with “Arena blanca.” (1976). His first solo album was called No ha pasado nada (Nothing Has Happened) (1977), followed by his second album, Tiempos de serenata (Serenade Times) (1981), and his third, Ganas de querer (1984), Como ladrón de madrugada (1988), and Mar y coco (1989). He alternated between solo performances and performances with the group C, then recorded Canta Eddy Castro (1999) and Aquellos años 60 (2001). He released a compilation album in 2023, Serenata de amor, in digital format.
