An evergreen song; We Are The World.

Music is life, music is a lot of things to me. I find comfort, peace, happiness and love in music and it's one of the things that my day won't end without. Every day, I listen to music just because of how it makes me feel.

Sometimes whenever I am down, music is what helps lift my mood. A few of my friends can relate whenever I am listening to music more than I used to do. It's either something is bothering me or I am trying to focus on a particular thing.

Music helps me create balance between me and the world, my mental health is practically attached to music and that's one of the reasons I am very careful with the kind of songs I listen to. I have mentioned it several times about me being an extrovert but my choice of music is the other way around.

I can vibe to any kind of song even though I am terrible at singing but when it comes to listening to songs that I really connect with, my friends always laugh at my choices. My playlist is the last thing you want to hear at a party because it consists of old but meaningful songs.

I always refer to some musicians as teachers because of the message they pass through their music. They preach about a lot of things that are happening today but the world doesn't take their message to heart. The majority just dance to the beat and follow the trend.

Many of the songs that I put on repeat on my playlist were sung even before I was born, everything about is upgraded but not my choice of music. I didn't find it difficult to choose my favourite song and this is a song I heard several times from my aunt back then. I didn't know the lyrics so I just mimicked her until I got familiar with it.

Firstly, I love the song because of Micheal Jackson but as I grew older, I understood what message the song was passing to the world.

"We Are the World" was sung by the U.S.A. for Africa but the Micheal Jackson version was the version of the song I knew first. Different musicians came together to cook a powerful message for the world to ponder and it was a huge one.

We Are the World

The song has a very powerful message of love, hope and unity but it's unfortunate we now promote songs that promote violence and immoralities. The song talks about what unity can help us achieve together and if we can put our differences aside, there will be so much positive changes in the world.

Although the song is old but it's evergreen. The message remains relevant to those who care to listen, it summarises the majority of the challenges the human race is facing and how we can conquer them together.

I listen to Tatiana, Ed-Sheeran, Beyonce, Asa and many others. I don't discriminate and as long as the song is passing a message, I will definitely love it.
