En 1986, cuando andaba comenzado el primer año de bachillerato en Ciudad Bolívar, escuche "Livin' On a Prayer" de Bon Jovi ya en ese año se convirtió en una de las banda sonora del momento, claro esto lo digo en nombre de muchos que nos gusta este estilo musical.
Esa canción, con su energía y su mensaje de perseverancia, sonaba en todas las emisoras de radio. Recuerdo que en el recreo nos reuníamos en el cafetín del liceo y más de uno con su walkman escuchaba el último hit de Bon Jovi. ¡Era imposible no cantar "Woah-oh, we're halfway there!" traducción al español de ese estribillo es "Whoa-oh, viviendo con una oración". Refleja la idea de mantenerse esperanzado y confiando en que todo saldrá bien, a pesar de las dificultades. Así que mientras esperábamos la próxima clase La radio era nuestra compañera inseparable, siempre al tanto de los éxitos del momento.

En 1988, estaba el bachillerato. Me acuerdo de la moda que este grupo impuso, con la pañoleta en la cabeza, les digo algo, yo también me la ponía, hahaha "Sweet Child O' Mine" de Guns N' Roses llegó como una bocanada de aire fresco. Ese riff de guitarra de Slash se metió en la cabeza de todos nosotros. A partir de él es que siempre he querido aprende a tocar guitarra. En las reuniones de los fines de semana con los amigos, no podía faltar esta canción. Recuerdo una vez que en una fiesta en casa de un pana, todos nos quedamos boquiabiertos viendo el video en la tele. Y por supuesto, la radio, siempre fiel, nos ponía al día con las canciones de la banda. Era una época dorada para el rock.

In 1988, I was in high school. I remember the fashion that this group imposed, with the bandana on the head. Let me tell you, I wore it too, hahaha. "Sweet Child O' Mine" by Guns N' Roses arrived like a breath of fresh air. That guitar riff by Slash got stuck in all our heads. Ever since, I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar. At weekend gatherings with friends, this song couldn't be missing. I remember once at a party at a friend's house, we were all amazed watching the video on TV. And of course, the radio, always faithful, kept us updated with the band's songs. It was a golden age for rock.

Aunque "Another Brick In The Wall" de Pink Floyd salió en 1979, yo la descubri mas o menos en 1986, cuando tenías 12 años. A pesar de que la canción ya tenía unos cuantos años de haber salido, seguía siendo un símbolo de resistencia y cuestionamiento del sistema educativo. En la radio sonaba de vez en cuando y capturaba la atención de quienes sentían que su mensaje aún era relevante. Ese año fue cuando empecé a apreciarla y a entender su poderosa letra. La radio, como siempre, seguía siendo una compañera fiel, trayendo esas joyas musicales a tus oídos.

Although Pink Floyd's “Another Brick In The Wall” came out in 1979, I discovered it around 1986, when you were 12 years old. Even though the song was a few years old, it was still a symbol of resistance and questioning of the educational system. It was played on the radio from time to time and captured the attention of those who felt its message was still relevant. That year was when I began to appreciate it and understand its powerful lyrics. The radio, as always, remained a faithful companion, bringing those musical gems to your ears.
