Music journalism caught my attention for a while. And I did it for a short period. Now that photography is part of my life, I have wanted to take pictures of musicians. As luck would have it, I have a friend who is a multi-instrumentalist, and he told me he needed a session for his Spanish rock cover band, called Ooparts.

The meaning of the name comes from a term defined by the naturalist Ivan T. Sanderson, to name an object found in some impossible historical context.

We did the session in several locations in one day. It was a great experience, even though some of the photos didn't turn out as I would have liked, because we improvised a bit. First, we were supposed to take pictures on a rooftop, so I didn't take artificial lighting, but it rained, and we had to take them at the guitarist's house, where the light was limited, and I had to increase the ISO of the camera, and that's why there was a lot of noise. However, I liked the composition, and that's why I dared to upload them. There were others that we took on the street, which I also liked. For my first band session, I am ok.

El periodismo musical me llamó la atención por un tiempo. Y lo hice durante un breve período. Ahora que la fotografía es parte de mi vida, había querido hacerle fotos a músicos. Por suerte, tengo un amigo que es multiinstrumentista, y me dijo que necesitaba una sesión para su banda de covers de rock en español, llamada Ooparts.

El significado del nombre se debe a un término definido por el naturalista Ivan T. Sanderson, para denominar a un objeto encontrado en algún contexto histórico imposible.

La sesión la hicimos en varias locaciones en un día. Fue una grata experiencia, pese a que algunas fotos no quedaron como hubiera querido, porque improvisamos un poco. Primeramente se creía que íbamos a tomar fotos en una azotea, por lo que no me llevé iluminación artificial, pero llovió, y tocó hacerlas en casa del guitarrista, donde la luz era limitada, y tuve que subir el ISO de la cámara, y pues, por eso hay mucho ruido. Sin embargo, me gustó la composición, y por eso me atrevo a subirlas. Hubo otras que tomamos en la calle, que también me gustaron. Para ser mi primera sesión a una banda, estoy satisfecho.
