I have a stainless washer with star drive screw addiction. Just like the look I guess
Over 2 thousand of them in my 2 decks. @pooky-jax my wife says it is overkill.
I removed the old screws to replace them with the stainless washers in our original deck when I added onto it.
I like em. Weird huh?

Stainless steel is great material to use for hardware, nothing wrong with that! It's certainly an interesting look for a coffee table. I like it on the deck, they will last longer than the wood.
I made one with the cheap Home Depot pine round top. Did stain only. It did not last a year
Same Cedar Log stand. Did this top with black cherry stain and two coats polyurethane.
I think that old cedar will give that stainless a run on longevity. Such a great wood.
