Runnin' Wild - Airbourne

Shout Out to all the do it yourself people here on the Hive.

One such person that comes to mind is @tarazkp who documented his home purchase & remodeling experiences here very well in my opinion. Worth a scroll back in time and a revisit I must say.

This weeks #weekend-engagement topic of choice for me is the Hobby topic. I feel there is no better therapy after a long week and many miles of...

Long Way to the Top - AcDc

The United States highways have become killing fields with 100's of thousands of unqualified and illegal alien drivers put behind the wheel by straight up fraud & greed. They work for 1/3 of the wages. It is all documented a true story but that is a topic for another day.

I will try to stay on topic here as I lay in my Hammock. Taking a break to decompress on this first cool day of this fall here in Northern Florida (usa)

Here is a panoramic gif I just made from that hammock.

GIF_20251010_101701_929.gif

It is quite cool here today @ 64°F/17°C
Couple that with a brisk wind with gusts of 18-20 mph/29-32 kmh. That makes it a real feel of...

55°F/12°C!

That's a big difference from 90°F/32°C of a few days ago. This old man in his t-shirt and shorts has gotta get movin'.

Brrrr..!

Enough is Enough - April Wine

So my hobby consists of yard work and maintenance of this property. It is a small 12 acre tree farm with over 3000 trees. 80% tall pines for harvest in 15 yrs. 22 oak trees, down from 29. 7 lost in the 2024 hurricane trains that cane thru. The oaks are several southern varieties. And a surrounding tree line of Juniper Cedar planted in 1998-1999 by myself. 182 before thinning. 151 now.

This Hobby keeps me very busy when I am not on the road trying to survive and eek out a living Madd Maxx style in the killing fields I mentioned above. I would much rather be here.

My work makes me go to the parts store and repair shops. My Hobby however takes me to Home Depot. I drive right passed the Hobby Lobby. Krazzy ain't got no time for glitter and artsy stuff. He gots chainsaws to operate and landscaping to do. You know... Manly shit like that.

Please don't tell anyone. I like gardening, growing Roses and painting also.

So thanks for landscaping...

Thanks for laying in this hammock with me and posting about hobbies, music festivals and everything else under the sun...

Thanks to all who rescue animals thru thinning of overpopulation, TNR (trap, neuter, release) and just giving forever homes and unconditional love...

Ah I really want to dig into my wood working passion more! I need the freaking space that’s my problem. I got nowhere to stain, sand and all that without breathing in the toxic fumes. I’ve got a couple slices of a beautiful Japanese maple in the other room drying, waiting for me to get to them!

That’s awesome man I didn’t realize you were growing trees like that for a hobby. Taking a page out of that other fellas book I forget him and his wife hive name! That’s really awesome!

I’ve been hearing shit about the illegals dude it’s crazy. We haven’t had any issues here yet in terms of stupid fucks killing people but I did see that dumb fuck try to turn around on the Florida highway recently through the cop cutover and killed some one. Really disgusting how these companies cut costs and then never get held accountable in any meaningful way.

Do a search for the dash cam video of that Florida Turnpike wreck. It is nearly as disturbing as the Charlie Kirk video. The illegal indian driver shows no reaction or emotions to killing those 4 in the mini van. (One a Child) He could only identify 1 out of 20 roadsigns when tested by the state police. Spoke almost no english and fled to California. But they brought him back.

I called 911 on an obviously impaired middle eastern possibly indian looking driver a week or so back. I have the video of him running several cars completely off the interstate. Avoid the Amazon & Uber Freight trucks. And the ones with damage already from previous recent wrecks. Be smart and just avoid the interstates altogether. I wish I could and have been alternating routes to take lesser traveled highways. It is bad and getting worse out there. They are behaving like cornered animals being hunted now by the DOT and Ice both. I have no doubt there will be a terrorist style road rage incident where one of them suicides a big rig at high speed into a large crowd or school/hospital/shopping mall type attack.

You really have a nice view from your hammock. Best place to chill while enjoying the purring of your pretty cat in your lap. You do this right? And you have a very tiring hobby, tiring but for sure really fulfilling to you. You are doing good in your yard work.

I like gardening, growing Roses and painting.

Your secret is safe with me dontcha worry 💃✨🥴

Your hobby need lots of energy, yeah? It looks so cool. My dad uses a chainsaw as well in cutting trees we use as firewoods. It looks heavy and tiring but I guess men have other thoughts of it? Your table looks so beautiful. From what tree is that made of? Looks interesting to me.

I used many of the cedars I cut down while thinning the property line trees. I had planted them too close together so I cut every other one down the line. I used some of them for the deck I built. Seen here...

That is a really cool table you built, beautiful! Any reason you didn't use countersunk bolts for the top?

I have a stainless washer with star drive screw addiction. Just like the look I guess

Over 2 thousand of them in my 2 decks. @pooky-jax my wife says it is overkill.

I removed the old screws to replace them with the stainless washers in our original deck when I added onto it.

I like em. Weird huh?
