Reviewing Bangchan's SOLO "Railway" + Rising Star Stat Update + Packs Opening!

Esta vez estoy a mitad de nivel 28. No quería quedarme haciendo las mismas misiones todo el tiempo, así que probé algo distinto, ahora tengo un área nueva desbloqueada en el mapa, que es la siguiente:

Esta vez tenemos la compañía adicional del líder de Stray Kids, Bangchan, el cual es el último miembro del cual veremos su canción solistas. Para darle cierre con broche de oro a esta sección de Stray Kids, ¿me acompañan a conocer a esta genial persona y artista?
This time, we have the additional company of Stray Kids' leader, Bangchan, who is the last member whose solo song we'll be checking out. To conclude this Stray Kids section with a bang, will you join me in getting to know this amazing person and artist?
Por supuesto, hay consideraciones sobre esta sección y el análisis que se hará para que no sea la típica "este tema me gustó 7/10".
Para analizarlos, escucharé no sólo la canción sino el álbum / single completo de donde esta haya salido. Esto me dará un margen mejor de análisis del artista y de la composición más que pensar solamente en una canción singular sin ningún tipo de conexto. La idea de este tipo de dinámicas es también identificar qué canción es buena para el álbum y cuales no lo son, o si es una canción floja pero no es necesariamente la canción principal del álbum, claramente la tendré en cuenta de una forma distinta.
Se analizará cada canción del álbum / single, y además, le daré un punaje a cada una, finalizando en un puntaje del álbum / single completo. Estos luego irán a un Excel donde tengo mis opiniones musicales formadas.
Sin nada más que decir, comencemos:
Of course, there are considerations about this section and the analysis that will be done so that it is not the typical ‘yeah I like this track 7/10’.
To analyse them, I will listen not only to the song but to the whole album / single from which it came out. This will give me a better scope of analysis of the artist and the composition rather than just thinking about a singular song without any kind of connection. The idea of this kind of dynamic is also to identify which song is good for the album and which are not, or if it is a not so bad song but not necessarily the main song on the album, clearly I will think about it in a different way.
Each song on the album / single will be analysed, and in addition, I will give a score to each song, ending in a score for the whole album / single. These will then go into an Excel where I have my musical opinions formed.

Christopher Bang, o su nombre artístico Bang Chan es el líder, principal productor y compositor de Stray Kids. Nacido en Australia (al igual que Felix), entrenó durante 7 largos años, siendo trainee de JYP desde los 17, aprendió a vivir la vida de una forma diferente, en un país diferente, rodeado de personas diferentes, lo que lo llevó indirectamente a tener una actitud y formas de comportarse, tal vez más maduras que el resto.
A diferencia de los demás grupos de kpop, Bangchan no fue elegido líder por votación o por años de entrenamiento, sino que él mismo eligió a los demás 7 (8 antes de la salida de Woojin) miembros de Stray Kids. Dado que JYP quería innovar, le dio a él la posibilidad y responsabilidad de armar el grupo, eligiendo todos sus integrantes.

Christopher Bang, or by his stage name Bang Chan, is the leader, main producer, and composer of Stray Kids. Born in Australia (like Felix), he trained for 7 long years, being a JYP trainee since he was 17. He learned to live life in a different way, in a different country, surrounded by different people, which indirectly led him to have a more mature attitude and way of behaving than the rest.
Unlike other K-pop groups, Bangchan wasn't chosen as leader by vote or based on years of training. Instead, he himself chose the other 7 (8 before Woojin's departure) members of Stray Kids. Since JYP wanted to innovate, he gave him the possibility and responsibility to assemble the group, choosing all its members
He's known in the group as "the father" to the other members, who are "the kids." Just as the other members have extreme trust in him, he reciprocates with leadership, care, and affection.

La canción empieza con una vibra muy tenebrosa y tétrica, incluyendo unos sintetizadores muy marcados, con unos bajos muy presentes y generando un ambiente, no de "terror", pero de "suspenso". A los 15 segundos empezamos a escuchar a nuestro artista, que, además de ser productor principal de las canciones de la banda, también tiene una muy buena habilidad vocal, como podemos escuchar.
35 segundos adentro podemos escuchar un beat lento y macabro que acompaña a toda esta atmósfera de película de suspenso en esta canción de dark pop. Como entrada al estribillo tenemos algo muy particular de Bangchan, y son sus notas altas. Acompañadas con un poco de autotune (que a mi parecer no me gusta, pero siento que está muy bien colocado en esta sección), nos adentramos al primer estribillo de la canción.
Con un ritmo clásico de dark pop vamos transitando el primer estribillo en una parte más hablada, siguiendo de una parte más melódica, donde podemos escuchar la voz de Bangchan llevándonos en un viaje (no intencional) por el este track. Se nota mucho la presencia del autotune en esta canción, no digo que sea principalmente malo o que sea para cubrir la voz del cantante, pero es un recurso que a él le gusta utilizar mucho tanto en sus canciones solistas como en sus líneas cuando cantan en grupo.
El primer estribillo termina e inmediatamente comienza el segundo verso. En una especie de modo más hablado vamos escuchando lo mismo que el primero, pero en un ritmo más acelerado, basándose en el primer estribillo. Repetimos la segunda parte de la lírica, pero con una diferencia notable en la entonación de la voz, esta siendo más melódica. Llegamos al punto donde se nos introduciría la nota aguda, esta vez cambiada por una parte instrumental para dar más suspenso.
En esta canción no hay puentes, saltamos directamente al segundo y último estribillo, modificándose la primera parte para funcionar como "puente", aunque no lo sea, cumple la función de desacelerar un poco el track. Volvemos al caos poco después, escuchando la voz de Bangchan en todo su esplendor, mientras vemos las cinemáticas que son sinceramente brutales.
La canción termina de manera abrupta luego del último estribillo, y con esto finaliza una canción de casi 3 minutos. Se pasó como muy rápido, ¿verdad? Yo también sentí lo mismo

The song kicks off with a very ominous and gloomy vibe, featuring prominent synthesizers and heavily present bass that create an atmosphere not of "terror," but of "suspense." At 15 seconds in, we start to hear our artist, who, in addition to being the main producer of the band's songs, also possesses impressive vocal ability, as is evident.
35 seconds in, we can hear a slow and macabre beat that accompanies the entire suspense-film atmosphere of this dark pop song. As an entry into the chorus, we get something very particular to Bangchan: his high notes. Accompanied by a bit of autotune (which I'm not personally fan of, but I feel is very well-placed in this section), we dive into the song's first chorus.
With a classic dark pop rhythm, we navigate the first chorus, moving from a more spoken part to a more melodic section where we can hear Bangchan's voice taking us on a travel (no pun intended) through this track. The presence of autotune is very noticeable in this song; I'm not saying it's bad or that it's used to mask the singer's voice, but it's a tool he enjoys using frequently in both his solo songs and his lines when singing with the group.
The first chorus ends, and the second verse immediately begins. In a somewhat more spoken style, we hear a similar progression to the first, but at a faster pace, building on the first chorus. We repeat the second part of the lyrics, but with a noticeable difference in vocal intonation, becoming more melodic. We then reach the point where the high note would be introduced, but this time it's replaced by an instrumental section to build more suspense.
There are no bridges in this song; we jump directly into the second and final chorus. The first part of this chorus is modified to act as a "bridge," and while it's not a true bridge, it serves the purpose of slowing the track down a bit. We return to the chaos shortly after, hearing Bangchan's voice in its full splendor while watching the honestly brutal cinematics.
The song ends abruptly after the final chorus, concluding a nearly 3-minute track. It flew by so fast, didn't it? I felt the same way.
Score: 7/10
Esta canción logra algo que las otras canciones me costó encontrar que para mí es una cosa también fundamental en una canción: el ambiente. El concepto de la misma se nota que se han sentado a pensar de qué podría tratar. Esta canción (mejor dicho el videoclip) está basado en un libro que ahora no recuerdo cuál es, pero las letras no tienen nada que ver con el libro eh, a Bangchan siempre le gusta hacer canciones con doble sentido (esta no es la excepción).
Realmente disfruté de este viaje, aunque fue una canción muy corta y quizá hubiera querido escuchar mucho más de Bangchan, sabiendo más aún su talento para componer canciones y su increíble habilidad vocal, pero tal vez veremos otra versión de él en un futuro que nos sorprenderá a todos.

This song achieves something I struggled to find in other tracks, something that for me is also fundamental in a song: atmosphere. It's clear they sat down and really thought about the concept behind it. This song (or rather, the music video) is based on a book—I can't recall which one right now—but the lyrics have nothing to do with the book, mind you. Bangchan always likes to create songs with double meanings (and this one's no exception).
I genuinely enjoyed this journey, even though it was a very short song, and perhaps I would have liked to hear much more from Bangchan, especially knowing his talent for composing and his incredible vocal ability. But maybe we'll see another version of him in the future that will surprise us all.
