The Pineapple Thief: Musical monuments

Bruce Soord has never been interested in the music that is played everywhere. For a quarter of a century, his band The Pineapple Thief has instead been playing Prog Rock in the style of early Genesis, enriched with references to classics such as Marillion and Porcupine Tree.

The new album of The Pineapple Thief is called "It Leads to This". And it also contains sprawling works full of rhythm changes that revel in sweet melodies and, despite their metal roots, save on guitar noise.

The eight songs are musical monuments that sound like the music to an invisible film that tells stories from a time when rock music still believed it could be more than just entertainment.
