Bullshit that will never be forgotten

It's been more than 30 years since rock music was still important and had great relevance. Artists were not pop bunnies who sang with computer voices, but stars with guitars, poets, explainers of the world.

We look back in a series to the days when die music wasn't dead yet.

“Some Old Bullshit” is what the Beastie Boys called their reissued first EP “Polly Wog Stew” from 1982, along with some exotic radio recordings and cassette recordings. In addition to the phone sex number "Cooky Puss", the first notable success of the later metal rappers, the almost half hour "Bullshit" contains thirteen clanging pieces from the most violent New York hardcore school.

With hot, crowed vocals and over-the-top guitars, the Beastie Boys belt out their provocative messages into the world on the album in the style of a school band imitating the Sex Pistols. The whole thing sounds like a demo tape and is more of documentary value. But to this day a work that deserves to be heard.
