American Soul: Police Man sings his heart out

Everyone is asking themselves on this day what happened in the USA. How can a man like Donald Trump win an election when people have been warning about him for years?

Wasn't the opposing candidate, who has now disappeared in defeat, the hope of the free world? Well, follow me briefly to Kid Rock's Honky Tonk Bar in Nashville to a moment when the American soul is completely exposed. The man singing here is a police officer who stands next to the stage and makes sure that no one goes too far.

But then this happens: He is handed the microphone and sings "Proud To Be An American" with all his heart, an old song by Lee Greenwood, also known as "God Bless The USA".

Maybe that's why Americans voted the way they did.
