TTT: Ten years ago, there was SHOKI

Greetings, music lovers! 🙌

10 years ago, there was a particular music and dance style that took over the air. The trend was just so unavoidable that almost all the afrobeat stars in Africa at large adapted to the vibe either with a hit song with the title "SHOKI" or the dance in their music videos.

The dance is a sweet and funny one: a hand to the front,, sway it down as if you want to carry something on the ground, then return the hand and use it to make a blind scene on the eyes.

Shoki (Rmx) by Lil Kesh, Davido, and Olamide

This was the hottest of them all!
This song is a remix of the original solo song by Lil Kesh, and he decided to make the return very hot by featuring highly rated stars in the industry, Davido and Olamide.

As you can hear and see in the video, the danceable beat started from the beginning to the end without a break, and the vocals perfectly matched the beat.
In this kind of song, you don't need to listen to the lyrics, especially when you're not a native person; just dance to the beat till you're tired and sweaty.

The Shoki dance style was displayed so well in the video by the dancers and other top artists that joined them.

Shoki by Orezi

Orezi wasn't left out; he came out with a drum beat pattern...in a very native way that got everyone on the street, both old and young, dancing the SHOKI dance style.

Shoki by Tekno & B-Red

I wanted to see the official video for this song, but it was never released. So bad!

Alhaji Tekno with B-Red came out with the coolest of them all, a pattern that triggers the dancestyle easily.
