Papaoutai
Mehnnn, there are some songs you just cannot ignore...
Songs you just keep wondering how they reached the level of popularity they did.
No lies, if you are conversant with the latest music trends and social media, you must have heard that deep, soul-refining song that is currently trending. Maybe you are not familiar with the title, but you must have heard it because almost everyone is using it for content due to how calm, ear-tingling, and soul-capturing it is.

Here is the song;
Before I came across this song on YouTube, I wondered a lot about the magic behind its worldwide trend. Meanwhile, it is not even sung in English.

I later found out that this latest song is actually a cover of the original song by Stromae titled Papaoutai. It was the unbelievable number of views on the video that first caught my attention. It has 1.1 billion views and was released 12 years ago. What a song! This clearly means the song was a massive hit back then, and unfortunately for me, I did not get to hear about it at that time. However, this recent cover was done by Mahmud Bin Asraf.
The funniest thing is that most of us do not even understand the lyrics or what the song is truly about. But one thing about music is that it carries everyone along through its many characteristics such as the beat, the voice sound, and the overall emotion it passes across.

Celebrate Me by Patoranking If you slightly understand pidgin English, you will definitely applaud the lyrics and ideas behind this song. Patoranking simply puts it out clearly that we should be celebrated while we are alive, not when we are dead.
You know, the trend of the current world is filled with hatred towards one another. We rarely appreciate people while they are alive, but once they pass away, everyone suddenly becomes loving. These days, when someone is sick, you will see little or no help from friends or even strangers. But when the person dies, you will see a big party with plenty of food organized by family, friends, and even strangers, all in the name of bidding farewell to the deceased. So bad!
When you see someone celebrating their birthday, do well to celebrate with them. When you see a person celebrating any achievement at all, celebrate with them.
Thanks for reading.
The moment I saw the title, I just knew I had to pop in. The viral choir master's Papauotai 😂.
It still very much baffles me how the media and its active users tend to dig out vibes from centuries back and shed light to it.
Kinda links to your second selection too 🥲.
