Orobo | Love | Music

In Nigeria, “Orobo” is a word used to refer to someone who is chubby, and hey, I have a special likeness for this kind of people. You know, there is this attractive bond between opposite people—yeah, that is how it works for me as well.

Over time, Nigerian musicians have cooked up songs to appreciate the beauty of these chubby ladies. Oh yes, I am referring to ladies. The following are some of those songs that I will be using as my entry for #ttt today.

Orobo by Iyanya and Shoday

This song is a very ear-tingling one, with smooth rhymes and interesting lyrics too. It is one of Iyanya’s latest songs, and he did excellently well with this craft. The song is all about appreciating the beauty of a chubby girl, and there is one part of the lyrics that makes me chuckle.

“Na your ex loose”

It means that the ex-boyfriend of the chubby girl is losing for letting such beauty go.

10 Kilo by Davido

This is a good one as well, and it is among the songs on the 5IVE album. It is a good song, perfectly crafted to make all chubby ladies feel good and never be affected by the body shaming they often receive. In the video of this song, one cannot stop applauding the creator for creating a spec of women that came with enough flesh. I love this song a lot, just the way I love big women.

Big Big Things by Young Jonn, Kizz Daniel and Seyi Vibez

When this song came out, it was more like an anthem, especially with the lyrics that go this way:

“Big big things no mo like…”

The video of this song assembled a lot of chubby women, which also beautified the meaning of the song. Although, to some people, this song is more on the “freaky” side.

Thanks for reading.
