Love malaria

Greetings everyone!

Yesterday, February 14, 2024, being Valentine's Day, happened like usual; the internet didn't fail to buzz with pictures of lovers here and there, and memes coupled everything for fun.

At my side, the day was so quiet, but when it got to night, the once very calm street turned to be the loudest. This is because I live very close to a busy lounge on our street, and yesterday, all the boys and girls came out to have all the Valentine's Day fun.

As for me, I wasn't concerned. I was seated outside within the space in the compound and pressing my phone, as well as feeding my eyes with people that were passing and also feeling the soft music coming out from the Lounge.
I must recommend the DJ that was on the steel yesterday because he was pulling out old, sweet love songs, and when it got to 🎶"kpo kpo kpo, open the door to your heart, make me enter,"🎶 I couldn't contain myself. That's one sweet love song I loved back then, and hearing it again took me to 'heaven'....it resurrected some old memories 🥰

Here is the main video but its visual is not clear enough;

The funny thing is that I couldn't recall the name of the singer, so I went to Google, made a search, and yay! I saw it and downloaded it.

All through the night, the song was on repeat, and I found it so amazing how I was singing along with every bit of it as if I had been with the song recently.

I woke this morning up with the song and decided to share it with some friends whom I know are familiar with old songs and to see if they knew the song.

I made a thread on Leothreads and tagged four of them, and guess what? All of them concurred that they know the song.

One of them even typed out some lyrics of the song and said she has the song on her phone and she plays it often.

OMG! That melted my heart!🥰

You know that feeling of butterflies in your stomach when you meet someone who likes a very uncommon song? Yeah, that's the sweetness I felt in my heart.

The sentence has a couple of errors. Here's a corrected version:

As I promised her, I wanted to compose a romantic article dedicating the song to her as a Valentine's Day gesture, but I fear her big boys on the bkockchain will beat me if I do.

What's the song all about?

MALARIA is the title of the song and it is owned by SOTY.

The song is just so natural with the lyrics; it says exactly what we will do whenever we fall in love.

Here is a cover of the song;

🎶I want to see you boy for my area

Every time I see you, you give me malaria

Each time I pray, the pain will go away, but every time I turn around, I see your lovely face🎶

The first verse has happened to me many times. I've been in a situation whereby I like someone, and anytime I see her passing, my heart flies away, especially when she's still giving me a tough time to get to her heart.

You've felt this too, right?
Hey! You can't lie; I know you've been there.

The song was released far back in 2006, and till today, whenever it's played, it gives the usual feeling of a good love song.

Thanks for reading

The song is really far back but I also remember it clearly. As a musically inclined person, I don't forget songs easily, all I need is a tune or a beat and the song starts playing in my head. The cover you shared is lovely

I love this song. It seems as if its Omawumi. The song is a lovely song.

Yeah, the voice sound exactly like that of Omawumi, but this is SOTY. So bad that this is the only track we got to know her with

Wow... I am shocked that I know the song quite well but not the singer.
