As A Nigerian, Are You Not Happy? | Football & Music
I doubt there's a Nigerian living in Nigeria who didn’t know what happened today, Tuesday. No, if there’s anyone like that, that person must be living under a rock without an internet connection. Nigeria played what was supposed to be her last match in the World Cup qualifiers today but, unfortunately and fortunately, we (Nigeria) still have other matches to play.
Hey, don’t stop reading in case you’re put off because of the match talk. What happened today was a very dramatic one.
Yesterday, we heard that our opponents trained for a straight five hours nonstop because they planned to wallop us (Nigeria) with goals. Guess what? Nigeria ended up beating them with four unreplied goals.
Okay, we were supposed to qualify for the World Cup with that kind of win, but unfortunately, the scores of other matches didn’t favour us, especially the match between South Africa and Lesotho. But all hope is not lost — there’s still hope to qualify, and that’s what has put the nation into jubilation today. We qualified for the playoffs, which is typically more difficult to do, but whichever way, we are happy because all hope is not lost. Or as a Nigerian, are you not happy? Lol.
Check out these songs as my collection for #ttt:
If You Like Gym by Odumodu Blvck:
This song comes out real and serves as a good banter to the Benin Republic, who trained for five hours straight only to get walloped by the Super Eagles of Nigeria. I like how Odumodu put the craft in this song — a song to tell the people that it’s not by gyming, it’s by what’s inside of a man.
“Buga” by Kizz Daniel and Tekno:
This song was among the top songs used during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. You want to say it wasn’t a World Cup song? Of course, it was. When Kizz Daniel released this song, he said he wished to perform it during the World Cup in Qatar, and he crafted the video to have World Cup vibes. His wish came true — he was featured to perform this song at the World Cup festival. Ohhh! Many of you weren’t born then. Lol 😂. Nigeria wasn’t at the last World Cup tournament, but our music was there.
“Abule” by Patoranking:
This is one song that sold to the world when it was performed during the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Oh yeah, we (Nigeria) weren’t among the qualified nations for that World Cup, but we were powerfully present with our good music.
