The music industry can be so funny sometimes. Artists can be making music, releasing tracks back-to-back, and still not getting noticed. They can remain in the game for so many years without any recognition, but just one song can blow them up and make them famous.

6uff, an artist who has been trending currently in the African music industry, has been in the game for about four to five years, yet he didn’t gain popularity until he released "10 Minutes," where he featured Odumodublvck. This song is a banger with an almost completely different style, but it is still mainly rap. There is a very good play on words, I mean, raw words. I really like the uniqueness of the song.

Gongo Aso by 9ice

This song, although I didn’t really like it back then because 9ice was known for singing his songs entirely in the Yoruba language without bothering to use English, does not take away from the realness and evergreen vibe of the track. The sound is absolutely unique, and it effortlessly introduces 9ice whenever it comes on. In the video of this song, Don Jazzy, D’banj, and other superstars were featured, and it made me watch it countless times back in those days. This song was released in 2008.

Follow Me by Young6ix and Wizkid

In the early days of Wizkid’s music career, there was an artist on a similar level with him, and the two of them shook the industry together with "Follow Me." Although the song originally belongs to Young6ix, Wizkid was featured on it. This was a massive banger when it was released. Watching the video again today feels so good, especially seeing their younger selves.

Thanks for reading.
