I CAN'T HIDE MYSELF

I was scrolling through reels on Instagram when I first came across the song. The first four sentences in the lyrics went through my heart and I decided to look for the full version. It says; I CAN'T HIDE MYSELF, I DON'T EXPECT YOU TO UNDERSTAND, I JUST HOPE I CAN EXPLAIN, WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE A MAN A lot of people might not understand the song, but I'm very sure men who hustle every day to provide for their families would relate to the song. For me it's not a matter of who does the job more between male and female, it's simply a fact that a lot of the time men do not speak out because they are busy hearing others out. I look within and see my struggles and sometimes wonder how the hell I'm still standing.

I Was watching a documentary where a lady decided to ask guys who they go to when they're in need, especially when they are broke, broken, need a shoulder to cry on and all that… I didn't know when I asked out loud, Do men have people they go to? And in fact most of the guys ask the same question which made me wonder where men draw strength from. This post is not meant to make you look at men with pity, but I write it because I'm inspired by the strength of a man. A good man will be strong when others around him are weak, sometimes we cry, not because we're weak, but because we have been strong for way too long. That strength to endure, face the torture and torment is what makes a real man.

When I heard the song, I knew that I didn't need the muscles and physical super strength to show I am a man, I just needed to find ways to be there for the ones I love without expecting anyone to be there for me. Not that I wouldn't want anyone to be there for me, but I wouldn't be the one to sit and wish things into existence, instead I would make sure that every single day I go out there, do some good, hustle, and be there for the ones I love. I take pride in knowing that even though a lot of people might not know about my struggles, I still find the strength to keep pushing in spite of it all. And this is a kudos to all the men out there who might be struggling within, but still finds the strength to keep pushing.
