Anthrax & Kreator + Testament

I bought tickets for myself and my dad to go see Anthrax, Kreator, and Testament tonight.

They're playing in the 3Arena and we have standing tickets for it. They worked out at around €79 each, but to see three fairly big bands, that's not a bad price.

It's just the two of us going to this one. I did ask Aimee if she'd like to go, but she thought it would be better for him and me to head up and have a night out.

Since the lead singer and our good friend passed away, myself and my dad have been obviously down. That sadness kind of bled into our previous passion for music and neither of us has really been pushed about anything revolving around doing gigs or even jamming, which was something we always loved doing.

Maybe going up here tonight will kind of rejuvenate us and we might get a bit of inspiration to do some music again, even if singly.

Our second album is far more eclectic than the first, and there are some songs in there that sound fairly metal, as opposed to our usual Ska/ Punk sound. Maybe we'll end up doing some more metal stuff after this, who knows?

He was always into his metal and introduced me to a few bands when I was first getting into music. I started listening to Anthrax, Slayer, and Metallica in and around the same time, and then after them, I got into other stuff and later introduced him to Slipknot, and Lamb of God, two bands I was, and still am really into. Apparent from the new Slipknot, because they've turned a bit bent, and Corey seems like a bit of a nob.

Anyway, all in all, it should be a fairly good night of music and we have all the bus and train times worked out, so hopefully we don't end up missing the last one. It's a fair walk to the station meaning we may need to leave a bit earlier.

That will be a noisy night. I can appreciate some thrash, but it's not my usual listening.

I hope you and your dad can keep on making music together.
