My Actifit Report Card: June 26 2025 - No Joy by The Beths

Today YouTube suggested a music video to me which brought me joy. The song is called No Joy, ironically.

This is a mid tempo Indy rocker featuring guitars and drums. The vocalist is Elizabeth and her 3 band mates are guys. They are from Auckland New Zealand and they are getting ready to tour NZ, Australia and the US in support of their new album.

Elizabeth is having no joy in this video but the dudes are smiling quite a lot. The video is wacky, worth a watch, and already scored over 31K via in 2 days. Check out The Beths singing No Joy.

What did you think? The drums start it off in a cool retro rockin' way, so you know what to expect. Then the happy guitars and sad vocals come in. The chorus is pure 4 chord joy, despite the lyrics. The middle part is a bit annoying, takes the track off course with a recorder at super high whistling frequency. But it ends strong with the chorus over and over.

Kind of reminds me of Wet Leg who I have featured here several times. So check them out if you like this.

My Activity

for this day was mainly house chores here and at another house where I am feeding a cat while its humans are not there.

I also went to a grocery store and stocked up on a week's worth of food. Ya gotta eat!

Other than that, just a few exercise snacks like squats and high legs.

At night I went out for a short walk. It was hot but not as bad as it has been lately. Still it was supposed to rain so I didn't venture far. As it turned out, no rain. I managed 6K today so that's a win. Anything over 5K is acceptable. I would have liked to get over 10K but No Joy. Maybe tmrw.
