Well here's an Old song! This is Shine On Harvest Moon by Ruth Etting from the summer of 1931 so almost a century ago. Apparently it was an oldie already because it was written in 1908!

I had heard this song before. I seem to remember it had a faster tempo and there probably are other versions out there. But this YouTube video from 2009 has almost 800K views.

The video for this song is a slideshow of Ruth Etting who was in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1931. I think her costumes were kind of risque for those times.

My Activity

today included sweeping leaves from the front of the house and working on the car. I also lifted my dumbbells and did 25 pushups.

At night I went out and saw that big old Harvest Moon, up in the sky. It was shining on, even a day or so after its peak of fullness. I took a medium length walk on this warm still summer night. We're expecting to be in the 80s for the next few afternoons so I think I'll have one or two more shots at visiting the neighborhood pool.
