My Actifit Report Card: September 27 2023 - New Cover from Emily Linge
YouTube recommended I watch Emily Linge's new video which is just hours old but already has over 5K views. Emily Linge is sitting at her piano in a classic black outfit as she plays and sings the 1966 classic hit by Dusty Springfield called You Don't Have to Say You Love Me.
The song is about a woman pining for her missing man. Things were good but now he's gone. If he would just come back then she would be happy. Even if he didn't stay forever she says she will understand. She says, believe me, I'll never tie you down. You can make what you want of the lyrics but I find them somewhat emo and depressing and desperate. But I've been there so I can understand. Believe me!
When I said I Needed You
You said you would Always Stay
Listen as Emily starts singing these first 2 lines. The notes start low then go high with the last 2 words. You will hear that Emily Linge has the vocal range to hit all the notes.
Her piano playing is quite good as well. She has good form and technique. Overall she gives another impressive performance from someone who is still quite young.
Let's hear the original
from Dusty Springfield and 2 other hits by her from the 60s.
You Don't Have To Say You Love Me - Live by Dusty Springfield
From 1963, here is Dusty's first hit song, a poppy upbeat tune called
I Only Wanna Be With You!
Late in the 60s Dusty gave us this pop country tune called
Son Of A Preacher Man.
My Number
Almost 10K but just missed it! If I knew I was that close I might have done another minute or two of movement! I got this from walking at night under a cloudy sky in misty weather.
Have a nice day!!
