An awesome music location in an old stripclub

Half of the place where you want to host something is how the venue is and it looks like. The vibe, the atmosphere, it all contributes to how eventually you 'feel' the evening. You could have the perfect event, which would not feel entirely finished if the venue was just a dark whole. And ofcourse the other way around.

Sometimes you run into the perfect location to host an event, and this was it. An old stripclub which now is being used as a guitar studio for lessons but you can also rent out for other music events. What a place!

Details is what it was all about. And for someone who normally doesn't really care a lot on how stuff looks, I was very much impressed by the place. The owner was a super nice dude who was telling a lot about how he got into this place.

See, the owner had been running the guitar shop for a long time already, but he was looking to expand his place for a little bit. This means that when you have music lessons, that you can have them in different rooms and there are more options to sit together with your teacher. And he also wanted a place where people could perform with a small audience, without making a too big of a deal out of it out.

At that moment he saw that the place next door was on sale and this was the old stripbar. With a good story and a likable factor he eventually got to buy it and has been hosting small music events in the weekend ever since.

I found an article online about the dude and how he got to his business and it also has some cool snaps taken in there from the venue. Just see how it looks and you can understand how I was so siked about the venue.

Indebuurt.nl This is from the website from the interview with the owner, but just to give you an idea of the overview of the inside

As said this is a place for small music sessions and we had a party there with some friends who are all electronic music lovers, so the tunes of the evening were techno with bpm with an average of more than 130 to blast along.

But apart from that I was just wondering through the building finding all kinds of weird quirks everywhere. What about this weddingcake as a decoration just at a random spot in the hallway. Kitchy? Yeah it is. Who cares.

On the upper floor where now the guitar lessons are given there are the separate rooms. These surely used to be smaller rooms where I guess strippers would give some private shows, but that time is all long gone. But literally every room was just finished in style.

Some with leopard prints of furniture, the toilets with glitter gold on the floor, a manequin sitting behind a curtain, and even a shower on stage where back in the days the miss-wet-tshirt-contests were hosted.

I'm just curious who visited this place before it was taken over. You just can tell there is so much (super shady) history made here in this place, but because now everything is so open with the new owner and so friendly. It is almost difficult to think how it would have been back in the days.

I'm thinking about a lot of mob stories instantly. The mind drifts off haha.

But honestly, it was cool to be at a small very with such atmosphere inside. Very often places used for techno music are very industrial and dark which also enhances the music I find. But in some way this setting also did that a lot, just in a different way.

Trippy artwork and loads of colors. Different stuff compared to your normal techno place.

Apart from the visual aspect the audio aspect was also really good here in the room, which is understandable as the owner is such an audio fan. With the sale of the guitars and the monitor speakers he also does which you can see on his website Let's play Guitar center you can understand how this dude also has a really high standard in what he expects of audio, and that is just what you want to hear.

I am expecting this won't be the last time we are hosting something in this place here. Looking forward to it already.

What a magic place! It reminds me one night club that I've been +8 years ago with some friends! It really had the same ambiance that you capture in that place. :) Making people happy back then, and continue to do the same thing... But upgraded! No nudity needed for that! LMAO

Haha making people happy in a different way indeed. I could imagine a lot of shady stuff going on back in the days but now this is just super fun and accessable for everyone.

I was just amazed how much was preserved from the 'old days' haha

Where was your nightclub back then.?

It was a nightclub that it's located near by my old faculty. It is named Body Club... What a "original" (NOT!!!) name, right?
If you wanna pick "inside", you can have a peak of what it is nowadays... LOL

You got a club experience extraordinary! I do like the place. Well from photo perspective and imagination how it would be like to be there when the techno beats rolled around the rooms and the peeps reacting enthusiastically. What about the little rooms during the party? Empty? Or used as (private) hangouts. Can imagine all sort of adventures took place in the past, as well as during the party you were at 😱 😉
