Come with me to listen to the music produced by my work.
Warm greetings to the friends of hive. I come to this community to greet you and to tell you about the music at work, in the daily tasks I perform. It may seem strange for a rough working man to talk about music in this context. I am in the bush making charcoal. I remember my high school teacher telling me that the first songs were about work.
In Cuba there has been a lack of electricity due to breakage of thermoelectric plants or lack of fuel. So it is difficult to cook and also the lighting and the operation of household appliances. That is why I am making charcoal to supply the need in the kitchen.
When the axe furiously hit the trunk again and again the music became loud. Then as fatigue set in, the drumming slowed down until it faded out.
This sounds like a story of resilience. I learned that term from my wife who is an intellectual. Really for me the story is about looking for viable alternatives to get out of the problem that is affecting us. Not losing faith that everything can get better if we assume a positive attitude can keep us well. Listening to the sounds around us and turning them into music.
That chopped firewood is placed on the ground in the shape of a cone or pyramid. Then it is covered with straw and earth and is set on fire at the top, and it will be several days of watching that it does not burn because a hole opens up and the air hits it and everything turns to ashes.
While we are there other sounds become music, the mockingbirds perched in the trees or on the electric wires trill a pleasant and always new melody, it is the music of nature. Many people come to help or to browse and comment or give advice.
The view is beautiful, the countryside is green and I feel like inventing and singing a song while I work.
Beautiful land in spring
Green grass smiling
I see my bride laughing
Already receives her first.
The firewood burns and waits for me
I can't go on because I'm not a composer
Lairars lairara I keep on humming that which I have invented.
Night falls and the natural violins begin to sound. Many crickets can be heard in the bush, it sounds like a string concert. The firewood begins to crackle, then the sounds come together and a whole orchestra of violins, cellos, guitars, lutes, bass. I can imagine all that.
There is a tremendous heat the mountain of firewood was burning slowly and we are already removing the earth from above now the firewood made charcoal when exposed to fresh air resonates as if it were going to split like tense guitar strings that break.
We are already finished, my brother-in-law and some neighbors have joined me. Also the music of nature, the music of my imagination and a small radio that I brought to be oriented. If you are curious you can ask, thank you for joining me with your reading.
I keep imagining a concert because a Cuban singer says that music is everywhere, you just have to learn to listen.

I also remembered the songs of the herdsmen that were studied in literature and music and the first hunting songs. It is true that the knocks on the wood sounded like drums. They worked hard, I'm glad you associate it with music and it helps you not to get so tired. If you are happy.
How nice you hear music everywhere. Sometimes I have similar experiences. Like car tiers moving on a wet street can give drum sounds. The mind does the rest.
WOW, you made a lot of charcoal. All for your consumption, or you'll be helping out other families as well?
In my country, we wouldn't know how to do this ourselves. We are so blessed with great electricity and gas utility systems. Occasionally electricity outage (like 1 or 2 times a year) and within minutes (some) people start to complain. These days we've unlearned to have matches and candles at home, so used are we to have electricity provided for.
Kind regards. Thank you for your comment. Here there are times when electricity is very scarce and this is an alternative for cooking. It is really a little for me, a little for my close family and the other will be sold for about 3 dollars per bag according to the current exchange rate here. I always imagine music in the combination of sounds I hear. Because if you think about how difficult this particular task is, I'm sure you can't beat it. I'm sure I won't beat it. Kind regards.
A friend who is a professional producer and DJ hears also in everything music. like a door sliding open and closing. like footsteps. in anything, really. I don't have that as much as he does much less actually 🎶 Fortunately I have parakeets and other birds in trees in front of my home. They sing regularly, playing their concerts, with me as their audience 😆
I've only across this method of making charcoal and I always wonder if these smokes don't pollute the air and causes inconvenience to the residents of the environment
Greetings friend, thanks for stopping by. This work is done in the bush or forest, away from homes. It gives off very little smoke although it has a pleasant smell around. It is made with trees that fall after cyclones, with scent or marabú which is an invasive or harmful plant and also with the residues of sawmills, it is not an industrial process, trees that give shade or fruit are not cut down for that. For all these reasons it is safe and does not affect the environment. Thank you for your opinion and your concern for the environment.
I remember my father once made one and we helped him. Right in the middle of the special period. There was nothing to cook with. I have mixed feelings, I'm not going to lie, seeing you do that. On one hand I feel sadness, and on the other hand joy for what this adventure of making the oven and getting the charcoal represented in educational terms for Julito, as well as of course it fulfilled a need.
I can choose, however, to only focus on the positive of this experience and I see value and determination to move forward. Strength and joy. Also inspiration.
A huge hug!
Hello friend. For Julito it was an adventure he is, as they say, arrested or brave he climbs everywhere, brings us snacks, asks questions, is not far from the house. What is difficult are the nights of little sleep because if left alone he catches fire and turns to ashes, but the child does not go at night. Julito's mother wants him to have that experience but not to fall in love too much because he wants to study. I don't believe that, even you made charcoal. It's good that you read my experience, greetings to your dad.
Your positivism is contagious, it's great that you love what you do and find joy in doing it. Besides, it's such an important job due to the problems of electricity the country is involved in
Hello. Thanks for your appreciation.
