English
Hello everyone, now I'm going to perform "Cómo Fue" (How It Was). This song has always struck me as very honest, like when someone asks you a question straight to your face, and there's no way to avoid it. It's not complicated in its form, but what it says carries weight, and that's what makes it special.
It's a composition by Ernesto Duarte, and over the years it's become a very well-known bolero, especially because many singers have adapted it to their own style. But beyond who has sung it, the power lies in the lyrics. That repeated "how it was" isn't just curiosity; it's like trying to understand when something changed without you even noticing.
Musically, it has that classic bolero structure, with chords that support the melody well and give space to the voice. It's not meant to be rushed or over-embellished. If you play it too elaborately, it loses its essence. I like to keep it simple, letting the guitar set the time and the voice tell the story as it is, without exaggeration.
It's a song that, although it speaks of love, doesn't sound dramatic. It feels more like an unfinished conversation. And that's what makes it relatable, because we've all wanted to ask something like that at some point, but we don't always dare. I'm going to try to interpret it calmly, respecting its classic feel. I hope you enjoy it.
