This is going to be my entry in this competion and so i appreciate everyone who have been working for the success of this project, Kudos to @musiczone who has been guiding us through in our post. It is another opportunity to make a musical presentation. I appreciate everyone who has been working for the success of this project and to all the members of this great community, I say well done to you all.

My post this week is a lamentation about Africa titled (Dear Africa) composed by Segun Akinlolu (Beautiful Nubia). This is a song talking about the situation in most african countries. And these are the main reason for economic melt down in most of our African countries. Some African countries are suffering from bad leadership while some are suffering from war and disunity among ethnic groups.

Morever, no development can take place in countries where the above listed predicament is reigning. The only way out of the backwardness, unemployment and insecurity is to join hands together and build a better nation, a place that we can be proud of wherever we are in the world.. These are not the works of the Government alone, the masses also have alot to do.

African people are seen as second class citizen in the world and some of our leader are too selfish to hear the cry and acknowledge the pain of the masses. They were voted for so that they can serve the nation but instead of serving the nation, they are there for themselves and their families. They are eating the national cake as if it belongs to them alone. In the midst of all these are the dangers we inflicts on ourselves in the grassroot level, killing fellow humans like ordinary animals.

People say that the youth are the future of every society, but theses same youths are those whose lives are wasted on the battle field Fighting their fellow brethren. Can someone tell us what the future holds for these youths after they have wadted all their days seeking for Job without any hope of getting one. And for those eho are not ready to wait till government provide a job opportunity, who volunteered to go to far and work, they had either been killed by bandit or chased out of their villages. The cry of everyone now is REVOLUTION.

Without much ado, lets get to the lyrics of the song:

We had a dream to build a great nation
We had a desire to rule the world
We lost our way and we should have turned
around
But all we do is keep on going wrong
How many more years of sorrow will come
How many more wars will we fight?
Dear Africa I'm worried for you
Come on and tell me, what we gonna do?
Tell me where we gonna go for love
Where we gonna go for hope
Show me how we gonna live without justice
How we gonna live together?
We've got the children scattered all over the world
They contribute to those economies
Back in the land the forest has become a desert
We shift the blame from one to the other
How much more blood are we gonna shed
How many more kids will go to war?
Dear Africa I'm down on my knees
Come on and tell me what we gonna do?
The sky is bright and the music is high
The spirits of our fathers returning home
Dear Africa give me some hope
Come on and tell me what we gonna do…
