Wolfgan Amadeus Mozart, a quien nunca podremos tributar completamente, falleció el 5 de diciembre de 1791. No es mi intención hablar de su biografía, bien recogida en la referencia indicada, ni mucho menos hablar de su música, pues no soy profesional de ese amado arte. Sólo un ejercicio en prosa poética para recordarlo.

Wolfgan Amadeus Mozart, to whom we will never be able to pay full tribute, died on December 5, 1791. It is not my intention to speak of his biography, well collected in the indicated reference, nor much less to speak of his music, since I am not a professional of that beloved art. Just an exercise in poetic prose to remember him.

Podría sentir el esplendor de tu Misa de la Coronación.
Deleitar mi alma con tus entrañables sonatas para piano
(resuena en mí ahora la número 11 en su andante grazioso).
Enternecerme hasta los huesos con el adagio de tu concierto de clarinete.
Sonreír y casi bailar con el allegro de tu serenata 13.

Pero, pequeño gran hombre, travieso y genial Amadeus,
tu Réquiem me visita cada cierto tiempo,
como a ti aquel dolor que hizo que lo escribieras.

Somos, indefectiblemente, esa mezcla de ascensión,
con juguetona inocencia, mansa emoción,
alegría de fauno o tristeza gratuita,
paralizados por tu divina creación
a la que siempre retornaremos
aun en nuestro réquiem.

I could feel the splendor of your Coronation Mass
Delight my soul with your endearing piano sonatas
(Resonates in me now the number 11 in its andante grazioso)
To be moved to my very bones with the adagio of your clarinet concerto
To smile and almost dance with the allegro of your serenade 13

But, great little man, mischievous and great Amadeus,
your Requiem visits me from time to time,
as it did to you that pain that made you write it.

We are, unfailingly, that mixture of ascension,
with playful innocence, meek emotion,
faun's joy or gratuitous sadness,
paralyzed by your divine creation
to which we will always return
even in our requiem.
