Chasing dreams, Turning success
“I got money , money , money on my mind … Money on my mind". This lyrics has been playing in my heart for days accompanied with various beats and rhythms. I drooled over the situation and went to my playlist on finance and here I was , glancing through the artists and the songs. Follow me on this journey as I list my four finance and money management songs …
- "Money" by Pink Floyd
“Money
Get away
Get a good job with more pay and you're okay
Money
It's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash”
Are you vibing to the lyrics the same way I am … when the haunting melody of "Money" starts playing, I'm transported to a reflective state of mind ( I’m literally not myself). The song delves into the intricate relationship we share with money. As the lyrics muse over the allure of financial gain and the way it can dominate our decisions, I'm reminded of the times I've felt the weight of financial responsibilities pressing down on me. The subtle warning within the song entails cautioning against the obsession with material wealth, which is a sentiment I've encountered in my own personal life. The song serves as a reminder to strike a balance between financial success and the richness of life beyond monetary measures.
- "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy ft. Bruno Mars:
“I wanna be a billionaire so fucking bad
Buy all of the things I never had
Uh, I wanna be on the cover of Forbes magazine
Smiling next to Oprah and the Queen”
This song is a motivational anthem for me and thousands of people out there …it encourages us to visualize success while keeping their feet firmly planted on the ground. Travie McCoy and Bruno Mars combine their talents to create a track that resonates with individuals striving for financial growth.
The lyrics as I’ve written above is about being a billionaire, buying islands, and achieving extravagant dreams are not just about materialism. Instead, they serve as a canvas for aspiring minds to paint their own visions of success. This song is one of my favourite as it inspires me to utilize any financial success I achieve as a vehicle for positive change.
- "Mo Money Mo Problems" by The Notorious B.I.G. ft. Puff Daddy & Mase
I don't know what they want from me
It's like the more money we come across
The more problems we see
I don't know what they want from me
It's like the more money we come across (yeah, yeah, a-ha)
The more problems we see
I remembered vibing so hard to this hip-hop song the first time I heard it. The catchy beats and memorable chorus accompanies deeper message about the challenges that accompany increased wealth. As I listen to The Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy, and Mase talk about the complexities of financial success, I'm reminded of how easy it is to get lost in the allure of prosperity and material gain.
The lyrics alone is enough to encourage you to remain grounded, no matter how much money you and I accumulate. It's more than a song …it is a lesson in humility and resilience, reminding us to stay focus on the goal.
- "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor
Rising up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive…
"Eye of the Tiger" isn't explicitly about finance, but its message of determination and perseverance resonates strongly with my financial journey. I literally play it every start of a new week because its melody alone is filled with countless motivational montages. One thing I learnt in this song is navigating financial freedom and journey requires more of focus , hardwork and self belief.
Each of the songs have offered unique insights, from cautioning against the dangers of materialism to remaining focus and in the end, reminding me of the power of determination. The songs have served as my motivation and a bell to money and finance management . As you listen to it and enjoy the tune , vibe lowkey to the lyrics . Remain blessed 🥰
