Conozco muy poco sobre la historia de esta canción, escuche que es de origen Cubano, sin embargo no tengo la certeza de afirmar que realmente sea así, si alguno de ustedes posee ese conocimiento me encantaría que me lo hiciera saber... Pese a ello "Conga Line" es una canción que estoy seguro todo el mundo a escuchado alguna vez, desde antes de ser músico yo escuche esta pieza en una banda, mas tarde la escuche siendo interpretada por un tambor de metal... Y siempre ha sido una de mis preferidas cuando salgo a tocar en una fiesta o cumpleaños...
I know very little about the history of this song. I heard that it is of Cuban origin, but I am not certain that this is actually the case. If any of you have this information, I would love to hear from you... Despite this, “Conga Line” is a song that I'm sure everyone has heard at some point. Before I became a musician, I heard this piece played by a band, and later I heard it played on a metal drum... It has always been one of my favorites when I go out to play at a party or birthday...
De hecho fue una de las primeras piezas que quise aprender cuando recién comenzaba a tocar mis primeras notas en el trombón, pero casi siempre interpretaba una versión que tocábamos en la banda, esta versión original comienza en un tono, pero posteriormente sube un par de tonos dando una expectativa más emocionante a la pieza, y es que esta canción realmente se trata de ello, una conga para bailar y ser feliz.... Lo que más me encanta es que desde su originalidad los instrumentos que le dan ese arranque potencial y característico es el trombón y la trompeta, eso me llena de orgullo y me genera muchas más ganas de tocar esta canción cada vez que pueda...
In fact, it was one of the first pieces I wanted to learn when I was just starting to play my first notes on the trombone, but I almost always played a version that we played in the band. This original version starts in one key, but then goes up a couple of keys, giving the piece a more exciting feel, and that's really what this song is all about, a conga to dance to and be happy.... What I love most is that, thanks to its originality, the instruments that give it that powerful and characteristic start are the trombone and the trumpet. That fills me with pride and makes me want to play this song every chance I get...

Casi al final les comparto una perspectiva musical que me vino a la mente cuando estaba tocando esta pieza, y era el involucrar el "conga line" con "Los Negros y Las Negras" de The Same People, aunque la transición que hice no fue la más limpia, la idea es buena, solo me falta pulir ese paso de una pieza a otra y estoy seguro de que se escucha mejor, pero quería saber que piensan ustedes de esta mezcla entre 2 obras maestras....
Towards the end, I share a musical perspective that came to mind while I was playing this piece, which was to incorporate the “conga line” with “Los Negros y Las Negras” by The Same People. Although the transition I made wasn't the smoothest, the idea is good. I just need to polish that transition from one piece to another, and I'm sure it will sound better. But I wanted to know what you think of this mix between two masterpieces....
