Old/New

Really found the interpretation of the music far better than the original I remembered from my youth, something my mom used to tease with her sense of humour Que Sera, Sera

Written by the Jay Livingston and Ray Evans both American Songwriters, used in movies where in the 1950s became popular.

Heard again in Series - "From" triggering some great memories, personally I prefer what the Pixies have done here with interpretation moving through the song with an infectious melodious sound accompanied by haunting voice bringing a depth into an alternative with excellent overture. Something new to find out more from this side of the pond.

American alternative rock band I must have been missing in action during 1980s, catching up now!

Liberating Past To Present

Yusuf/Cat Stevens has resided in my LP collection and life for over 50 years, tracking back on some golden oldies found new songs, reflecting current times of accelerated instability throughout the world, we all know what they are!

Profound lyrics accompanied by excellent animated art throughout the album "King of the Land."

Art by Peter H. Reynolds
Animation by John Lechner and Peter H. Reynolds
Produced by FableVision

I LOVE the Pixies! Absolutely love them. One of my favourite bands and one that I also need to catch up a bit on because I see they have released a bag of stuff recently!

I like this version of this song a lot. Needs more listening!

Nice rolling new into the ears, currently filling up the tank with some of their sound as well. Supercharge energy from doom/gloom all around us!

Some wonderful tunes girl. You sure do know your music. I've spent the last 20 minutes or so listening to the tunes you have highlighted here while surfing around some other posts. I should do that more often.

When our children were younger, some of the stuff they listened to was terrible. I've been reminded several times about the time I sailed a CD out the car window that my son left in the CD player after he had borrowed it. Once I heard the first verse that included numerous curse words, the CD was history. My son said, Dad what are you doing I just bought it. My response was, Well that was your first mistake and the second one was leaving it in the car, end of conversation. We still laugh about it to this day.

Guess what they're listening to today, yup, the same music we listened to back in the day and are still enjoying today.

Our sons grew up with our music on most days, came to enjoy the older song, found new and introduced me to some which I have quite enjoyed.

You talk like that my Dad used to complain about "Yellow Submarine" and the likes saying it was nonsensical !LOLZ
