Sound of Silence

Good Morning, Hive!
It's 5:40 in the morning here. I was watching something else earlier that somehow lead me to search for a video of "Sound of Silence" by Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel.

I have always been intrigued by the song's meaning. The song was written and made popular decades ago. As I listed to it again, somehow, the message of the song is more apt at this crazy times...

I don't know, maybe because I feel that the "Truth" is being silenced these days and lies are being shouted out across the globe as the "new truth".

Hola, @jloberiza. He escuchado esta canción toda la vida. Me ha gustado aunque su melodía me trae como una carga de tristeza y nostalgia. Es común en la iglesia cantar el Padrenuestro adaptando sus palabras a esta melodía. No sabía que era el tema de una película. Encontré esto al respecto:

Hola, estoy de regreso. Para mí es una canción que protesta contra los que no protestan, contra los que aceptan todo sin cuestionarlo. Algunos se expresan tras el anonimato de un graffiti en el metro o en las paredes de una pensión o en los baños públicos.

Totalmente de acuerdo contigo: nunca esa canción había sido más vigente que ahora. Una época donde cada vez hay más "noticias" y menos información.

That's my thoughts exactly. A lot of new ideologies are being introduced in the recent years. A lot of them are crushing the old beliefs and cultures that withstood for hundreds of years. People are just accepting them blindly without thinking of the long term effects of these new ideologies... and yeah... some people are protesting in silence...

Esos son exactamente mis pensamientos. En los últimos años se están introduciendo muchas ideologías nuevas. Muchos de ellos están aplastando las antiguas creencias y culturas que perduraron durante cientos de años. La gente simplemente las acepta ciegamente sin pensar en los efectos a largo plazo de estas nuevas ideologías... y sí... algunas personas están protestando en silencio...
