Una mañana de reparaciones! || A morning of repairs!

Desde hace unas semanas me había comprometido con el grupo de conquistadores a poner manos en los instrumentos que faltaban reparar y poner a punto.

Desde el viernes a la noche me pidieron por favor que les ayude a acondicionar los instrumentos de percusión, sobretodo los tambores y el bombo ya que estos tienen muchos años, mucho uso, traslado de un lugar a otro y mas, todo esto hace que los instrumentos se deterioren y hace falta un cariño cada tanto tiempo, esta vez tuve la valentía de ser quien lo hiciera.

Since Friday night they asked me to please help them condition the percussion instruments, especially the drums and the bass drum since these have many years, a lot of use, transfer from one place to another and more, everything This causes the instruments to deteriorate and a love is needed every so often, this time I had the courage to be the one to do it.

Primero inicié cambiando el parche de un bombo, el que tenía estaba roto y solamente he procedido a cambiarlo, pero cuando lo desarmé me encontré con la sorpresa que todo el borde de la caja del bombo estaba deteriorada y golpeada, esto hacía que tenga partes filosas y que pudieran dañar el nuevo parche. Es por ello que le di forma nuevamente y tapé los bordes astillosos con el resto del parche que había cambiando, este quedó super bien.

First I started by changing the head of a bass drum, the one I had was broken and I only proceeded to change it, but when I took it apart I was surprised that the entire edge of the bass drum box was damaged and beaten, this made that has sharp parts that could damage the new patch. That's why I shaped it again and covered the chipped edges with the rest of the patch that I had changed, this one turned out great.

En el caso de los tambores o redoblantes, en su mayoría mejoré el tensor de las bordonas, es el alambre que le da el sonido característico de redoblente. Tuve que inventar tensores de alambre, de cables de acero y combinado con precintos plásticos pude acondicionar unos 11 redoblantes, quedaron funcionando mucho mejor que antes.

In the case of the drums or snare drums, I mostly improved the snare tensioner, it is the wire that gives the characteristic snare sound. I had to invent wire tensioners, steel cables and combined with plastic seals I was able to condition about 11 snare drums, they worked much better than before.
