Argentina... Mis mejores recuerdos del coro mundial definitivamente son junto a nuestros hermanos de la delegación de Argentina por muchas razones. Justo hoy estuve viendo el perfil de uno de ellos en mi facebook y descubrí que se está llevando a cabo el Festival America Cantat en La Plata, comenzó el 11 y termina el 15 de Octubre y aunque no lo crean mi agrupación coral estaba programada en este encuentro internacional de coros, pero aquí en Venezuela hay muchos líos y a mediados de año vimos que nos borraron de la lista porque no pudo aprobarse que fuéramos al país del sur, sino, este post lo estaría escribiendo desde allá. Lo bueno es que creo que en Noviembre tendré el placer de conocer otra hermana nación del norte, seguimos echando buena vibra para que se de ese viaje.

Argentina... My best memories of the world choir are definitely with our brothers of the Argentina delegation for many reasons. Just today I was looking at the profile of one of them in my facebook and I discovered that the America Cantat Festival is taking place in La Plata, it started on the 11th and ends on the 15th of October and believe it or not my choir group was scheduled in this international meeting of choirs, but here in Venezuela there are many problems and in the middle of the year we saw that we were deleted from the list because we could not be approved to go to the southern country, otherwise, I would be writing this post from there. The good thing is that I think that in November I will have the pleasure of visiting another sister nation to the north, we keep on giving good vibes for that trip to happen.

Agustín y Pedro de Argentina

Todo comenzó el primer día de ensayos con las delegaciones internacionales. Alguna vez mencioné en algún post que todos los tenores del coro mundial hablábamos español, todos eramos latinos y eso fue una fortaleza para nuestra cuerda. Los chicos de la foto de arriba son personas muy maravillosas, porque aunque me vean amistoso en Hive soy bastante tímido en persona y con ellos romí el hielo desde el primer momento. En ese momento no pensé que se convertirían en uno de los favoritos del grupo grande. La obra musical del video es un tango titulado "Los Pájaros Perdidos"; ya la habíamos cantado desde el año pasado, pero definitivamente hacerla guiados por personas que tienen el tango corriendo por sus venas es otra cosa, una cosa bien buena y bonita.

It all started on the first day of rehearsals with the international delegations. I mentioned once in a post that all the tenors in the world choir spoke Spanish, we were all Latinos and that was a strength for our string. The guys in the picture above are very wonderful people, because although I look friendly in Hive I am quite shy in person and with them I broke the ice from the first moment. I didn't think at the time that they would become one of the favourites of the big group. The musical piece in the video is a tango called "Los Pájaros Perdidos"; we had already sung it since last year, but definitely to do it guided by people who have tango running through their veins is something else, a very good and beautiful thing.

Algo era seguro para nosotros desde antes que nuestros invitados llegaran a Venezuela, queríamos que las piezas musicales que llevaran algún solo sea cantado por personas representantes de su región, así que nosotros no nos peleamos por bien quien se llevaba la corona. Para este tango todo fluyó muy fácil, Agustín se levantó y canto sus lineas de una manera muy expresiva y sentimental, ni siquiera se levantó otro argentino a intentar opacarlo, el solo era para él. Pero nuestra directora ya venía planificando algo en su mente, porque sabía que Pedro, el otro tenor dirige coros en su tierra, y justo en el ensayo general antes del concierto le dijo que sería él quien iba a dirigir la pieza. En medio de lágrimas de felicidad se paró frente a nosotros y creo que nunca volveremos a interpretar ese tango tan perfecto como ese día. Ese hermano tiene magia en sus manos y y una pasión que quema para hacer música.

One thing was certain for us from before our guests arrived in Venezuela, we wanted the musical pieces that had a solo to be sung by people representing their region, so we didn't fight over who would take the crown. For this tango everything flowed very easily, Agustín got up and sang his lines in a very expressive and sentimental way, not even another Argentinian got up to try to overshadow him, the solo was for him. But our conductor had already been planning something in her mind, because she knew that Pedro, the other tenor conducts choirs in her homeland, and just at the dress rehearsal before the concert she told him that he would be the one to conduct the piece. In tears of happiness he stood in front of us and I don't think we will ever again perform that tango as perfectly as we did that day. That brother has magic in his hands and a burning passion for making music.

Creo que no tengo mucho que decir de esta pieza musical, ella habla sola a través de su melodía, puedo puedo decirle que violamos totalmente el ritmo escrito en la partitura. Esta música es mejor cantarla siguiendo al director y su adrenalina en el momento, hacerla como está escrita se siente seca, el rubato es el mejor aliado del tango argentino, de repente podemos acelerar frases como de pronto las podemos ralentizar, y eso le aporta magia a la música, nada que ver con la exactitud de Mozart o Beethoven que generalmente cantamos en el coro, el tango es libre y les juro que fue el mejor momento del concierto. Estábamos muy concentrados, no había tiempo de ver la partitura porque el director estaba entregado a su momento de gloria y creo que se lo transmite también a ustedes que ven el video.

I don't think I have much to say about this piece of music, it speaks for itself through its melody, I can tell you that we totally violated the rhythm written in the score. This music is best sung following the conductor and his adrenaline in the moment, doing it as it is written feels dry, the rubato is the best ally of the Argentine tango, suddenly we can speed up phrases as suddenly we can slow them down, and that brings magic to the music, nothing to do with the accuracy of Mozart or Beethoven that we usually sing in the choir, the tango is free and I swear it was the best moment of the concert. We were very concentrated, there was no time to look at the score because the conductor was devoted to his moment of glory and I think he also transmits it to you who see the video.

Obviamente los chicos se robaron el crédito del tango porque el solo era para un tenor, pero una de las delegaciones más grandes en el coro mundial era la de Argentina, dos chicos y dos chicas en el coro, y estoy casi seguro que también eran cuatro personas en la orquesta mundial, pero no tuve tiempo de conocerles. La química con ellos fue perfecta, igual que aquí en Hive donde se hacen destacar por su excelente contenido; usuarios como @palabras1, @belug, @avdesing y @aibi93 se han ganado la admiración de muchos, especialmente de nosotros los venezolanos. Disculpen si me falta gente, pero no lo recuerdo todo en este momento. Y claro, como olvidar que uno de mis mejores amigos en un Buhito 🦉 así de la nada nació una bonita camaradería y así de la nada yo quiero dedicarle este post a @elbuhito. Obviously the boys stole the credit for the tango because the solo was for a tenor, but one of the biggest delegations in the world choir was from Argentina, two boys and two girls in the choir, and I'm pretty sure there were also four people in the world orchestra, but I didn't have time to meet them. The chemistry with them was perfect, just like here in Hive where they stand out for their excellent content; users like @palabras1, @belug, @avdesing and @aibi93 have earned the admiration of many, especially us Venezuelans. Sorry if I'm missing people, but I can't remember everything at the moment. And of course, how can I forget that one of my best friends in a Buhito 🦉 so out of nowhere a nice camaraderie was born and so out of nowhere I want to dedicate this post to @elbuhito.
