Welcome to Three Tune Tuesday!. A nice space in the Music community that was born from the idea of brother @ablaze, where all participants recommend music to each other. Listening to music on spotify I came to a wonderful place called “1984” and played the greatest hits of that time. They are songs older than my own existence, but they were not alien to me, their legacy has been so great that many I know and sing them at the top of my lungs. For some of my readers, more than a recommendation it may be a reminder, but the younger ones may not know them and I would love to share at least my favorite songs from 40 years ago.

Escuchando música en spotify llegué a un maravilloso lugar llamado "1984" y sonaron los grandes éxitos de ese entonces. Son canciones más antiguas que mi propia existencia, pero no eran ajenas para mí, su legado ha sido tan grande que muchas las conozco y las canto a todo pulmón. Para algunos de mis lectores, más que una recomendación puede llegar a ser un recordatorio, pero los más jóvenes quizás no las conozcan y me encantaría compartir al menos mis canciones favoritas de hace 40 años.

One of the most powerful songs I have ever heard, with a great vibe and timeless. Don't think I'm a connoisseur of this band, but this is one of my all time favorite songs and it perfectly represents Glam Rock, that era of long hair and strident sounding guitars. I think it was in my teens when this music came to me, the time when I started to get interested in rock, it was one of the biggest hits of 1984 and I understand that if it wasn't for Michael Jackson's Thriller it would have reached the first place in Billboard. An amazing song and worthy of being highlighted in this space on Tuesdays.

Una de las canciones más poderosas que he escuchado siempre, con gran vibra y eterna. No crean que soy conocedor de esta banda, pero vaya que esta es una de mis canciones favoritas de siempre y representa a perfección el Glam Rock, esa era de cabelleras largas y guitarras de sonidos muy estridentes. Creo que fue en mi adolescencia cuando está música llegó a mí, la época en que comencé a interesarme en el rock, fue uno de los grandes éxitos de 1984 y tengo entendido que de no haber sido por Thriller de Michael Jackson habría alcanzado el primer lugar en Billboard. Una canción asombrosa y digna de ser resaltada en este espacio de los Martes.

I didn't know this song until the musical series Glee hit the screens. Hello is one of the most beautiful and heartfelt ballads I have ever heard. I was moved when I first heard it on television and immediately sought out the original version. This ballad is another powerful reason why 1984 was a very important musical year, and this artist is still making music today, of course always highlighting this great hit, although he has a dozen more popular songs. An ideal song for romantics.

Yo no conocía esta canción hasta que la serie musical Glee llegó a las pantallas. Hello es una de las baladas más hermosas y sentidas que he escuchado. Me conmovió cuando la oí por primera vez en televisión e inmediatamente busqué la versión original. Esta balada es otra poderosa razón por la que 1984 fue un año musical muy importante, y este artista sigue haciendo música en la actualidad, por supuesto que resaltando siempre este gran hit, aunque tiene una docena más de canciones populares. Una canción ideal para los románticos.

I think it is impossible for young people today not to know this romantic and sensual melody. It is one of the most popular songs in romantic sax music and has been the musical background of many memes, at least here in Latin America it is so. George Michael is one of the most important male artists ever, and this song is as timeless as his legacy, I think there is not a week in which its exquisiteness does not pass through my life since I knew it in my childhood in the 90's, definitely the good things never go out of fashion...

Creo que es imposible para los jóvenes de hoy en día no conocer esta romántica y sensual melodía. Es una de las canciones más populares en la música de sax romántico y ha sido fondo musical de muchos memes, al menos aquí en América Latina es así. George Michael es uno de los artistas masculinos más importantes de siempre, y esta canción es tan eterna como su legado, creo que no hay semana en que su exquisitez no pase por mi vida desde que la conocí en mi infancia en los 90's, definitivamente lo bueno no pasa de moda...

This song is not from 1984, but rather from the first year of that decade. It is Back In Black by the rock band AC/DC. I had to include Shakira in today's recommendations somehow and it shows one of her rock phases, a bit forgotten by the people who lived through it and unknown to today's youth. Rock was always Shakira's favorite musical genre and in 2003 she revived this powerful song on her Mongoose Tour. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did...

Esta canción no es de 1984, más bien es del prime año de esa década. Se trata de Back In Black de la banda de rock AC/DC. Tenía que meter a Shakira en las recomendaciones de hoy de alguna manera y muestra una de sus fases rockeras, un poco olvidadas por las personas que la vivieron y desconocida para los jóvenes de hoy. El rock siempre fue el género musical favorito de Shakira y en 2003 revivió esta poderosa canción en su Tour de la Mangosta. Espero la disfruten tanto como yo...
