A Special Walk in Granada...

This video represents a wonderful moment in my life. We were at the Casa Museo de Federico García Lorca singing poetry outside, accompanied by the sound of the birds in the park of the same name. My girl could not sing, she was the one who recorded the video, but she still enjoyed every second of that little musical presentation. The whole choir was full of joy, but Jhoxiris and I had a special plus, there was a lot of peace in our souls, and it's all because before making music we escaped to walk in the park and connect with the weather and the beauty of nature...

Este video representa un momento maravilloso en mi vida. Nos encontrábamos en la Casa Museo de Federico García Lorca cantando poesías en el exterior, acompañado del sonido de las aves del parque del mismo nombre. Mi chica no pudo cantar, fue quien grabó el video, pero ella igual disfrutó cada segundo de esa pequeña presentación musical. Toda la coral estaba llena de dicha, pero Jhoxiris y yo teníamos un plus especial, había mucha paz en nuestras almas, y todo se debe a que antes de hacer música nos escapamos a caminar por el parque y conectamos con el clima y la belleza de la naturaleza...

In this place I think it was where I met the real spring, the one I have read so much about and seen on television since I was a child and that evidently is not felt in my tropical country. In spite of some trees that still had no leaves, the park is full of a great variety of vegetation and bird species, all very colorful and with a very special smell. It was a very nice weather, about 17° at the time we visited, so while everyone was exploring the museum we went to explore the park.

En este lugar creo que fue donde conocí la verdadera primavera, esa de la que tanto he leído y visto en la televisión desde niño y que evidentemente no se siente en mi país tropical. A pesar de algunos árboles que aún no tenían hojas, el parque está lleno de una gran variedad de vegetación, y especies de aves, todo muy colorido y con un olor muy especial. Era un clima muy sabroso, como de unos 17° en ese momento que lo visitamos, así que mientras todos exploraban el museo nosotros nos fuimos a explorar el parque.

One of the things I loved the most in Spain were the pine trees, I never saw so many gathered in one place and in nature for no reason, unless it's Christmas 😅 in this place there were of all shapes and some taller than others. That smell is very special, it makes me feel something nice in my soul. It is worth mentioning that this walk had a wonderful musical background provided by the birds, it was the only sound and even though there were so many of them it was never annoying. I was only able to capture in photos a pigeon resting on top of a beacon of light.

Una de las cosas que más amé en España fueron los pinos, nunca vi tantos reunidos en un solo lugar y en la naturaleza sin ningún motivo, a menos que sea navidad 😅 en este lugar había de todas las formas y unos más altos que otros. Ese olor es muy especial, me hace sentir algo bonito en el alma. Cabe destacar que este paseo tenía un fondo musical maravilloso proporcionado por los pájaros, era el único sonido y aunque eran muchísimos jamás fue molesto. Solo pude capturar en fotos a una paloma que reposaba en lo alto de un faro de luz.

I swear it was a perfect half day. I usually like better the days where the sky is blue and you don't feel that constant threat of rain, but even though the sky varied between blue and gray it never rained. In fact we were almost late for our musical presentation because without realizing it we walked a long way and arrived in a secluded area of the Casa Museo, but those are the things that happen when we are in total calm and enraptured by the natural gifts of life. Of course, we arrived in time to sing, never forgetting that our main mission is work.

Les juro que fue un medio día perfecto. Generalmente me gustan más los días donde el cielo es azul y no se siente esa amenaza constante de lluvia, pero aunque el cielo variaba entre azules y grises nunca llovió. De hecho casi llegamos tarde a nuestra presentación musical porque sin darnos cuenta caminamos mucho y llegamos a una zona retirada de la Casa Museo, pero esas son las cosas que ocurren cuando estamos en total calma y embelesados por los regalos naturales de la vida. Eso sí, llegamos a tiempo para cantar, nunca olvidamos que nuestra misión principal es el trabajo.

We also appreciated many palms in Spain, these are one of my favorite trees because it never ceases to amaze me how tall they can be, but with them I am more familiar, there are even palms in my mother's house since I was a child and that's why I have so much affection for them. I remember that after this walk between my girl and me and our musical presentation, we had to make time waiting for the check-in time at the hotel, so there was still more opportunity for the whole group to get to know the place.

También apreciamos muchas palmas en España, esto son de mis arboles favoritos porque nunca me deja de sorprender lo altos que pueden llegar a ser, pero con ellos sí estoy más familiarizado, incluso hay palmas en mi casa materna desde que soy niño y por eso les tengo tanto cariño. Recuerdo que luego de este paseo entre mi chica y yo y de nuestra presentación musical, tuvimos que hacer tiempo esperando la hora del check-in en el hotel, así que igual hubo más oportunidad para que toda la agrupación conociera el lugar.

But I had already anticipated the facts, I walked every corner of this wonderful place and did something that I think I did not repeat in any Spanish city. I sat on a bench just to close my eyes and listen to the sound of the birds, the distant laughter of happiness of my companions; with my eyes closed I felt the subtle cool breeze of Granada and I could only pray and thank for this moment I was living... Then Jhoxiris arrived to bother me with the camera and later some of the tenors who wanted to rest their legs and spend a pleasant time with me. Although there wasn't a tree to give us shade, it was a perfect place to connect with the spiritual 🙏

Pero ya yo me había adelantado a los hechos, recorrí cada rincón de este maravilloso lugar e hice algo que creo que no repetí en ninguna ciudad española. Me senté en un banco simplemente a cerrar los ojos y escuchar el sonido de los pájaros, las risas de felicidad lejanas de mis compañeros; con mis ojos cerrados sentí la sutil brisa fresca de Granada y solo pude orar y agradecer por ese momento que estaba viviendo... Luego llegó Jhoxiris a molestarme con la cámara y más tarde algunos de los tenores que querían descansar sus piernas y pasar un rato ameno junto a mí. Es que aunque no había un árbol que nos diera sombra, era un lugar perfecto para conectar con lo espiritual 🙏
