Rosas Pandan a Filipino Folk Song that Came to Venezuela and Projected to the World [Eng-Esp]

About a month ago I told you about Rosas Pandan, a Filipino song that means a lot to me, beyond its lyrics and beautiful melody. This musical arrangement came to our group thanks to Maestro T.J Harper in 2017 and it was the first song I sang in the choir, my debut concert, and the audience was first class, as dad, mum and my brother were there watching my dream come true, and thanks to the power of this musical work they were amazed with the strength of the choir from the very first moment.

Hace un mes aproximadamente les hablé sobre Rosas Pandan, una canción filipina que significa mucho para mí, más allá de su letra y su hermosa melodía. Este arreglo musical llegó a nuestra agrupación gracias al Maestro T.J Harper en 2017 y fue la primera canción que canté en la coral, mi concierto debut, y el público era de primera, ya que papá, mamá y mi hermano estaban ahí viendo mi sueño hecho realidad, y gracias a la potencia de esta obra musical ellos quedaron sorprendidos con la fuerza del coro desde el primer instante.

The musical arrangement is by George Hernandez and he made sure that the piece starts with a lot of power and then ends in the same way, I feel that he has worked magic with each of the phrases of the song. While the sopranos sing the verses, the rest of the voices make such a dense harmonic accompaniment that it sounds like musical instruments, but it is only the result of a good choral arrangement.

El arreglo musical es de George Hernández y se encargó de que la pieza empezara con mucha potencia y luego también terminara de la misma forma, siento que ha hecho magia con cada una de las frases de la canción. Mientras las sopranos cantan las estrofas el resto de las voces hacen un acompañamiento armónica tan denso que parece que que sonaran instrumentos musicales, pero solo es el resultado de un buen arreglo coral.

For me it has been a joy to repeat it after 6 years and in such an important concert as the El Sistema World Choir. There were no Filipino singers in the choir, but there were people in the orchestra and in the audience who came from so far away to strengthen the musical ties between our nations. This video represents one of my favourite moments of the evening and it is one of the last we performed that weekend. I hope you like this music as much as I do. Para mí ha sido una dicha repetirla después de 6 años y en un concierto tan importante como el del Coro Mundial El Sistema. No había ningún cantante de Filipina en la coral, pero sí había gente en la orquesta y en el público que vinieron desde tan lejos a fortalecer los lazos musicales entre nuestras naciones. Este video representa uno de mis momentos favoritos de la noche y ya es de los últimos que interpretamos ese fin de semana. Espero les guste esta música tanto como a mí.
