Hive Open Mic Week #199 || A Cover of When Nigeria Beat Brazil @jesus-son [Eng/Esp]

Hello friends of hive Open Mic, this is @jesus-son and I welcome you specially to my blog today. This is week 199 and in this week the artiste wants us to reflect on the theme of Brazil. Well, this got me thinking very deeply but thank God that at the end I got what to present. I hope that you would appreciate my interpretation. Thank you for your time and support.

I shall present here a song that was coined by some Nigerians some time in 1996. I was just a baby then but I grew up to meet the song always sung and we enjoyed the vibe.

It was the Olympic game of 1996 and Nigeria made it to the semi final of the Olympic football match. It happened that the unimaginable happened and this song which I present here was formed.

On the normal ground, we all or some of us know that Brazil has a very strong football squad and to survive from their hands in any match, you have to either pray hard or also have a squad as strong as theirs. Although these days they are not performing so well in the international matches but really they play good football.

So it happened that Nigeria played against Brazil and Brazil was winning 3 goals to 1. After a while close to the end, Nigeria scored a goal and at the tale end of the 90th minute another goal was scored and the match was taken to extra time and at the extra time Nigeria scored another goal that won the match. It became a history made and this song was sung all over.

The lyrics is simply "when Nigeria beat Brazil, Bebeto con dey cry" it means, when Nigeria won Brazil, Bebeto wept. Now who is Bebeto? He is the Brazillian number 9 striker who was very famous then.

Doing this cover I did a kind of refurbishing of the song. Meaning that I added to make the story alive in the song itself. I hope that you enjoy this piece guys. Thanks for coming around.

Esta es la semana 199 y en esta semana el artista quiere que reflexionemos sobre el tema de Brasil.
Bueno, esto me hizo pensar muy profundamente pero gracias a Dios que al final tuve lo que presentar.

Presentaré aquí una canción que fue acuñada por algunos nigerianos en algún momento de 1996. Yo era solo un bebé en ese entonces, pero crecí para conocer la canción que siempre se cantaba y disfrutamos de su ambiente.

Eran los juegos olímpicos de 1996 y Nigeria llegó a la semifinal del partido de fútbol olímpico.
Sucedió que sucedió lo inimaginable y se formó esta canción que aquí presento.

En el terreno normal, todos o algunos de nosotros sabemos que Brasil tiene un equipo de fútbol muy fuerte y para sobrevivir de sus manos en cualquier partido hay que rezar mucho o también tener un equipo tan fuerte como el de ellos.
Aunque estos días no se están desempeñando tan bien en los partidos internacionales, realmente juegan un buen fútbol.

así sucedió que nigeria jugó contra brasil y brasil iba ganando 3 goles a 1. al rato ya cerca del final nigeria metió un gol y al final del minuto 90 se metió otro gol y el partido se llevó a la prórroga
y en la prórroga nigeria anotó otro gol que le dio la victoria al partido.
se convirtió en una historia y esta canción fue cantada por todos lados.

la letra es simplemente cuando nigeria venció a brasil, bebeto con dey cry significa, cuando nigeria ganó a brasil, bebeto lloró.
ahora quien es bebeto?
Es el delantero número 9 brasileño que era muy famoso en aquel entonces.

Al hacer este cover hice una especie de remodelación de la canción.
lo que significa que agregué para darle vida a la historia en la canción misma.
