Hive Afri-tunes week #85 || A Cover of Baba wa amade o @jesus-son
Hello friends on hive @afritunes community, my name is @jesus-son and I welcome you to the week #85 of the community events. It is always a pleasure to bring you my interpretations and reflections every week. Also, in a special way I salute all those who have been supportive in one way or the other to my musical works. I have often received encouragements from you all and I am grateful.
These days, I am consumed with great passion for our African local compositions. I can't actually tell the reason for the shift in mood but I know it is just happening and I am seeing myself loving it, hehe. I want to specially recognise the efforts of our African composers and singers. It is in this spirit that I again bring a cover of a local Nigerian song in Yoruba language titled "Baba wa amade o". I hope that @sholex94 and @gloriaolar will not crucify me if don't pronounce some words rightly, hehe. Thank God say @jmis101 no b yoruba, so she no go fit talk anything.
The song I shall cover is a song that is composed by the Bishop of Oyo Catholic diocese named Bishop Badejo. His Lordship is a composer, a guitar player and a singer. He has a crew with which he goes out with atimes for concerts. Sometimes I wonder how he combines his episcopal duties with his musical career. Nevertheless, music is a beautiful entity that can make someone want to leave even his primary responsibility and do it, hehe.
Often times, we sing this song in the church during the presentation of gifts. You need to listen to this song when it is played and sung with the several afritcan instruments like the talking drum, Congo, timer (pointer), pot, shekere and the likes. Meeeen! e dey over make brain. However, because I am alone here I shall accomplish this by improvising with the beat from the piano. I wish it serves a bit eventhough it cannever substitute entirely.
It is a song of thanksgiving to God. The beginning says that we are here o God to offer our gifts, so accept them and accept us too. It's a beautiful song very suitable for the period of offertory in the church.
I bring you this with all my heart and mind. I hope you love it. Thank you for coming around. Sing and enjoy with me!!
