Hello everyone, anime fans, I hope you are feeling great today, today, I want to talk to you about an anime that despite not being the best, I remember fondly for some reason haha, previously I have mentioned that I always feel some nostalgia when rewatching some of my first anime, but in this case, after watching it again, I feel it deserves a deeper analysis haha. Today I'll tell you about: Fuuka, the first thing that strikes me about this series, is that they didn't adapt the story of the manga as is, the anime took some crazy liberties (and some weird ones, to be honest) with the story. Was it a disaster? nah, not so much... The story revolves around Yu Haruna, a boy who moves to Tokyo and there he meets Fuuka, a super energetic girl, free and who loves music, this meeting is what triggers the whole anime, which revolves around music, relationships and finding meaning in life, or something like that, well. ... here is where it gets murky, if you come from the manga, you will notice that the story takes a BRUTAL turn, the anime makes some very strong changes, some cool, others.. mmm, no.

The biggest change, and the one that left me with a bad taste in my mouth, is the relationships.. in the manga, the relationship between Yu and Fuuka is built in a natural way, with sense, in the anime, instead, Koyuki, Yu's childhood friend, is given much more prominence, and becomes a main love interest, yes, Koyuki is also important in the manga, but in the anime they inflate her too much. What's the result? a love triangle that feels super weird and forced, that no one asked for.

Hola a todos, fanáticos del anime, espero que hoy se encuentren genial, en el día de hoy, les quiero hablar de un anime que a pesar de no ser el mejor, recuerdo con cariño por alguna razón jaja, anteriormente les he mencionado que siempre siento algo de nostalgia al ver de nuevo algunos de mis primeros animes, pero en este caso, luego de verlo de nuevo, siento que merece un análisis más profundo jaja. Hoy les hablaré de: Fuuka, lo primero que llama la atención de esta serie, es que al no adaptaron la historia del manga tal cual, el anime se tomó unas libertades bien locas (y algunas medio raras, la verdad) con la historia. ¿Que si fue todo un desastre? nah, no tanto.. La historia gira alrededor de Yu Haruna, un chico que se muda a Tokio y ahí conoce a Fuuka, una chica súper enérgica, libre y que ama la música, este encuentro es el que detona todo el anime, que gira en torno a la música, las relaciones y encontrarle sentido a la vida, o algo así, bueno.. aquí es donde la cosa se pone turbia, si vienes del manga, se darán cuenta de que la historia da un giro BRUTAL, el anime mete unos cambios bien fuertes, algunos chéveres, otros... mmm, no.

El cambio más grande, y el que más me dejó con mal sabor de boca, es la onda de las relaciones.. en el manga, la relación entre Yu y Fuuka se arma de una forma natural, con sentido, en el anime, en cambio, a Koyuki, la amiga de la infancia de Yu, le dan muchísima más protagonismo, y la vuelven un interés amoroso principal, eso sí, Koyuki también es importante en el manga, pero en el anime la inflan demasiado. ¿Cuál es el resultado? un triángulo amoroso que se siente súper extraño y forzado, que nadie pidió.

Now let's talk about the music, oh, this anime is supposed to be about a band, about their way to fame, and you expect the music to be the best, the crown jewel, right?!

Well no, gentlemen, the synchronization between what you see on screen and what you hear is a disaster, a total chaos...it seems that each one is playing a different song, really, and it's a shame, because the songs themselves are not bad, but the execution, the staging.. Phew, terrible! If you compare it with other music anime like Fuuka it's in diapers, but like this, in baby diapers... it lacks a lot to reach its heels, it would have been great to see more of how the band grows musically, the rehearsals, the moments of frustration when something doesn't work out, the joys when they make it... But the anime goes through all that just like that, very fast, as if it didn't care about anything, without really getting into those details that make you connect with the story...

And the animation... leaves much to be desired, Diomedea, the studio that made Fuuka, well... did what they could, let's say... there are moments that look nice, but there are also scenes that look like cardboard, stiff, lifeless... the character designs... normal, nothing special, but well, at least they look like they are supposed to look. Something I did like were the colors, they made a little bit of an effort, the colors help to understand how the characters feel, that's true. But in spite of that, in the important scenes, where one is supposed to feel everything, the animation falls short...it doesn't transmit anything, and that takes away strength from the key moments, it makes them less exciting, less impacting.

Hay que hablar de Fuuka, la original, la del manga.. esa Fuuka era un desastre hermoso, cero preocupaciones, y ni se daba cuenta que se estaba enamorando, así de despistada era, ese proceso de enamoramiento se sentía real.. lento, pero real, pero la Fuuka del anime... ay, como que le bajaron la personalidad.. es como una copia barata, una versión aguada de la original, sí, es divertida a ratos, pero le falta esa chispa, esa energía que te volaba la cabeza en el manga, siento que no se esforzaron mucho en desarrollarla como personaje, ¿saben? quedó mucho más plana, menos interesante, eso hace que su relación con Yu... pues, como que no te llega tanto, no te emociona como debería.. Ahora hablemos de la música, ay, se supone que este anime es de una banda, de su camino a la fama, ¡y uno espera que la música sea de lo mejor, la joya de la corona, ¿no?!

Pues no, señores, la sincronización entre lo que se ve en pantalla y lo que se escucha es un desastre, un caos total.. parece que cada uno está tocando una canción diferente, de verdad, y es una lástima, porque las canciones en sí no son malas, ojo, pero la ejecución, la puesta en escena... ¡ufff, fatal! Si lo comparas con otros animes de música como Fuuka queda en pañales, pero así, en pañales de bebé.. le falta un montón para llegarle a los talones, hubiera sido genial ver más de cómo la banda crece musicalmente, los ensayos, los momentos de frustración cuando algo no sale, las alegrías cuando lo logran... Pero el anime pasa por todo eso así, rapidísimo, como si no le importara nada, sin meterse de verdad en esos detalles que hacen que uno se conecte con la historia..

Y la animación.. deja mucho que desear, Diomedea, el estudio que hizo Fuuka, pues... hizo lo que pudo, digamos.. hay momentos que se ven bonitos, pero también hay escenas que parecen cartón, rígidas, sin vida.. los diseños de los personajes... normalitos, nada del otro mundo, pero bueno, al menos se ven como se supone que deben verse. Algo que sí me gustó fueron los colores, en eso sí se esforzaron un poquito, los colores ayudan a entender cómo se sienten los personajes, eso sí es verdad. Pero a pesar de eso, en las escenas importantes, donde se supone que uno debería sentir de todo, la animación se queda corta..no transmite nada, y eso le quita fuerza a los momentos clave, los hace menos emocionantes, menos impactantes.

And the story jumps from one side to the other like a flea, without letting you breathe, so the whole romantic background feels like it was done on the run and, sometimes, you don't even believe it... if you are one of those who like romance on slow fire, calmly, this anime is going to make your hair stand up...

And I have to be honest, you may not notice it the first time, but this anime is chock full of clichés, boring love triangle with childhood friend...Classic! Protagonist clumsier than an elephant in glassware? Present! The only thing missing was the chapter on the beach with drama (although we did have festival, which is almost the same thing, right?) and it's not that clichés are bad by themselves, but Fuuka doesn't do anything to give them a different touch, something original.. now, can someone who hasn't read the manga enjoy the anime? Mmm, maybe... if you watch it without expecting much and you just want a light romance with some music, maybe you'll be entertained, but if you're a fan of the original manga, you'll probably be left with a “what?” face because of all the changes.

Pero la cosa no termina ahí, ¡no, señor! Porque no solo la animación es inconsistente, el ritmo también es un desastre.. quisieron meterle como mil cosas en solo 12 episodios, ¡y se nota demasiado!, las relaciones amorosas se arman así, de la nada, los momentos que se supone que te deben llegar al corazón, nada, no te mueven ni un pelo, porque no les dan tiempo de que exploten.. Y la historia va saltando de un lado a otro como pulga, sin dejarte respirar, así que todo el trasfondo romántico se siente como si lo hubieran hecho a la carrera y, a veces, ni te lo crees..si eres de los que les gusta el romance a fuego lento, con calma, este anime te va a sacar canas verdes..

Y tengo que ser sincero, tal vez no lo note la primera vez, pero este anime está repleto de clichés, triángulo amoroso aburrido con la amiga de la infancia? ¡Clásico! Protagonista más torpe que un elefante en cristalería? ¡Presente! Lo único que faltó fue el capítulo en la playa con drama (aunque sí tuvimos festival, que es casi lo mismo, ¿no?) y es que no es que los clichés sean malos por sí solos, pero Fuuka no hace nada para darles un toque diferente, algo original.. ahora, ¿alguien que no haya leído el manga puede disfrutar el anime? Mmm, puede ser.. si lo ves sin esperar mucho y solo quieres un romance así, ligerito, con un poco de música, tal vez y te entretiene, pero si eres fan del manga original, lo más probable es que te quedes con cara de "what?" por todos los cambios.

And well... to close this review, what else can I say about Fuuka? it had potential, yes, but it was half way, the truth is... the changes they made to the story... yes, they were daring, I liked some of them, like the one related to 🚛, but the others... they didn't make sense, the romance felt forced, the rhythm was drifting and the music, which was supposed to be the soul of the party, well meh, it gave no impact at all. Well, it's not that it was a total snooze either, there were moments that made me smile and some parts of the conversations between the characters were funny... but if you're looking for a love story that will blow your mind, that will leave a mark on you, you better look somewhere else... Now, if you don't care about the changes and you just want something to pass the time without thinking too much, maybe it will entertain you a little, my final grade: a 6/10... it's not impossible to watch but it could have been a thousand times better, and well... that's all for today, see you in the next reviews, take care, byebye.

Y bueno.. para cerrar esta reseña, ¿qué más les digo de Fuuka? tenía potencial, eso sí, pero se quedó a medio camino, la verdad.. los cambios que le hicieron a la historia.. sí, fueron atrevidos, alguno me gustó, como el relacionado al 🚛, pero los otros.. no tenían sentido, el romance se sintió forzado, el ritmo iba a la deriva y la música, que se suponía que era el alma de la fiesta, pues meh, no dio impacto nada. Bue, tampoco es que fue un bodrio total, hubo momentos que me sacaron una sonrisa y algunas partes de las conversaciones entre los personajes estuvieron divertidas.. pero si buscas una historia de amor que te vuele la cabeza, que te marque, mejor busca por otro lado.. Ahora, si los cambios te dan igual y solo quieres algo para pasar el rato sin pensar mucho, quizás te entretenga un poco, mi nota final: un 6/10.. no es imposible de ver pero pudo haber sido mil veces mejor, y bueno.. eso es todo por hoy, nos veremos en las próximas reseñas, cuídense mucho, byebye.
