My Passion: A Look Into What Drives Me

I wasn't able to respond on time to last weekend's posting prompt in the weekend experience community because I was so occupied, although I had already drafted a little something.

I will cut to the chase and quickly go to my answer for that topic which says 'What are you passionate about'?

In simple definition and understanding, when one is passionate about something, it means they naturally want more of that thing and have a strong enthusiasm for it.

I'm passionate about music, and I love to sing. I've been singing right from a very young age since I was a child. The grooming started with the children's choir I was in back then at the church I attended at that time.

I am passionate about music because music has the ability to bring out emotions, it provides comfort and brings joy. This is why I long to develop myself and do more. I love good music, so when I sing, I always hope that people love what they hear and feel good.

However, I know that without practicing and sacrificing what is needed to be better, I would just be like a blunt knife.

There are many times in my life when I feel down, and other times I am not able to do something productive. Whenever I feel like this, I turn to music to lift my spirits and help me be creative. Music has been one of the tested and proven ways to change a sad face to a happy face, especially when the music you are listening to is really good music.

Speaking about being productive, music helps me concentrate, especially on days when I'm thinking a lot and finding it difficult to concentrate. I remember the time I newly I moved into my apartment. I was to trying to get myself settled and also trying to adapt to the new environment.

For some reason which I'm not sure of, I just couldn't concentrate no matter how hard I tried. My Bluetooth speaker helps me a lot. All I just needed to do was to turn on my blue tooth speaker, connect my phone and select my favorite playlist.

Music is therapeutic. It helps one relieve stress, it helps memory and as I mentioned earlier, it brings joy to one's heart. All these things are what I have experienced.

In addition to that, music also provides a way for me to express my creativity and connect with others. Music has been a source of inspiration and comfort for me throughout my life, and I can't imagine life without it.

Currently, I haven't gotten to where I wish to be as a singer and someone who loves music.

I understand if I want to get to where I want to be, I would need to invest my time, my energy, and money, these investments are worth it.

Asides from that, practicing daily and building a strong network of people who share the same passion and goals as me would help me get to that place I dream to be.

One of the things I am also lacking as it is now is exposure. Since I work from home, I'm always in my house excluding Saturdays when I go to church for rehearsals and Sundays when I go for Sunday services. Also, I haven't made some connection which a friend that has the same passion.

This brings me to why I am grateful for the Afritunes and the Hive open mic music communities. Those platforms have given me the opportunity to do what I love on the blockchain and I never feel tired of singing.

I have always said and will still say that I need a music coach that will train me and make me a developed singer. This has led me to watch YouTube videos of music coaches, and even on other social media, I search for things like that.

Although I learn from online videos like that, I still feel the need to physically get to meet a very good music coach. I haven't had the opportunity, but I believe that I will someday.
