I remember how I felt when I first listened to the song and was trying to score it. Somehow I felt connected to the song during that period. My heart was filled with excitement at that time and it was as a result of the happenings in my life during that period. I had a strong connection with the lyrics and melody of the song. I felt like the song was speaking to me in a way that no other song had. It was a defining moment for me.

During that time, I was working at a gym center as an instructor and living in a shelter where I had been referred by the domestic and sexual violence agency in the state where I reside.

It was also a depressing and difficult moment for me emotionally at that time.

I couldn't be with my son either. I had to leave him with his grandparents because I needed to work and save money so that before the expiration date of my stay in the shelter, I would have been able to save money to rent an apartment for myself and my son.

However, the Lord had his own plans, he was always with me and directed my path.

I was called and informed about a grant that was ongoing at the time, and was advised to apply, which I did. The grant was from the DSVA.

Months after following several procedures and providing all that was required, I was finally given the grant. With the grant, I was able to rent an apartment for myself and my son. Because it is a spacious two bedroom apartment with a parlor, I had to move my parents in with me.

As well, I resigned from the gym centre and was very happy to do so since the place had already become toxic for me.

It all happened a few weeks before my birthday last year, which was on July 21.

A lot happened. In fact, it is a very long story I had a lot of mixed emotions that I had to deal with. It was a roller coaster of highs and lows for me. I learned a lot from that experience and I'm thankful for it.

It felt like God specially prepared a birthday gift for me, which was the best at that time.

You will understand what I mean if you read the lyrics below. I will always be thankful to God for taking care of me and not leaving me.
